The exhibition space for rare artifacts with a collection of artifacts and documents about archaeological excavations at Nghe An Museum is still arranged according to familiar themes including weapons, production tools, household items, and musical instruments. However, in parallel with visiting the exhibition rooms, Nghe An Museum now has another form to introduce to visitors.
“You just need to touch the screen, click on the information you need to search for and you can update all the data about the artifacts” – that is the introduction of the staff of Nghe An Museum when sharing about the touch Kiosks placed at the museum's exhibition booths.

Touching the ancient bronze drum dating back over 2,000 years ago, in just a split second, information about the Dong Son bronze drum is clearly displayed. This is a musical instrument of the ancient Vietnamese people and was found while digging for a road in Doi Am, Dong Bang hamlet, Dong Hop commune, Quy Hop district and was handed over to Nghe An Museum on July 16, 2008. In addition to fully updated information, with 3D mapping projection technology, viewers can also see in detail the sides of the drum and every small detail with meticulously carved patterns. Each image is vivid, rotating according to hand control, helping viewers feel like they can "touch" and "feel" the artifact, things that are "forbidden" when coming to museums.
The exhibition booth "Nghe An Land and People" covers an area of nearly 200m2.2. Small space but contains the history of Nghe An land with full information and data on many different topics including: History, Scenic spots, Cultural heritage, Cuisine, People - Famous people of Nghe An.

Coming to this space, visitors will experience many modern digital technology applications and through that there will be many different ways to receive information. Accordingly, 3D mapping technology can help viewers find information easily with many intuitive and vivid images. And with VR virtual reality technology, the images are also designed like the real world. Therefore, just by wearing a virtual reality glasses, visitors will have a vivid experience and virtual interaction through positioning and motion control devices, creating a realistic and vivid feeling.
“I was listening to a song about Nghe An and felt like I was immersed in the scenery of my homeland, feeling like I was visiting those lands,” shared Ms. Lan Hue, one of the first tourists to experience this technology.

At the exhibition booth “Following the course of history”, although the amount of information is very large recording the development process of Nghe An from prehistoric times to the early days of nation building, in the history of nation building and defense, in the struggle to protect national independence, unify the country and in the path of innovation, viewers do not feel burdened.
Instead, by applying modern technology, the content will be recreated as a slow-motion film, helping viewers return to the historical past and the present with many vivid images, sounds, and clips. In particular, the AI technology used in this exhibition helps create personalized experiences for viewers. AI systems are capable of creating customized audio or visual guides to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of the exhibition content. In addition, in this topic, the application of AI also has the effect of replacing a traditional tour guide to answer visitors' questions.

Tham Om Cave is located in the limestone mountain range of Chau Thuan Commune, Quy Chau District, dating back about 200,000 years ago and is a typical archaeological site of the late Paleolithic period in Nghe An. In order to innovate the display and attract visitors, Nghe An Museum has invested in 3D mapping technology to tell the story of Tham Om Cave.
In recent days, the exhibition space of Tham Om cave has become an attractive destination for many tourists, especially students when coming to Nghe An Museum. Using 3D mapping technology, in the space of Tham Om cave, technology experts have combined 3D technology and film technology to create visual, light, and sound effects, stimulating all the senses of the viewer. The story is led by the appearance of primitive people 200,000 years ago with torches in hand entering the cave. Life is then recreated with many vivid images of hunting, gathering, natural scenery with the rising sun, with flowing streams, ancient animals... truly creating attraction and interest.

Ms. Phan Thi Ha Long - Deputy Director of Nghe An Museum said: "Tham Om Cave is the first test for a content in a regular exhibition and has received very good feedback from visitors. In the coming time, with the Digital Transformation Project and investment and innovation in technology for exhibition work, Nghe An Museum will continue to propose to effectively implement many other topics with quality and effective investment to attract more and more visitors to the Museum".
The application of digital technology is no longer strange to many museums today. At Nghe An Museum, the digital transformation plan has been developed and implemented for a long time in many different fields. However, this is the first time the museum has applied modern technology to exhibitions. From there, many actual exhibitions such as exhibition spaces and explanatory content will be digitized and information will be transmitted through many technological application methods, such as virtual exhibitions, 3D interactive tours, automatic explanatory tours, tours through virtual reality glasses, etc. The public can interact and experience from devices such as computers, smartphones, tablets, etc.

“Currently, Nghe An Museum has more than 30,000 artifacts and documents, of which 3 are recognized as National Treasures. The number of artifacts displayed and introduced is still very modest and has not reached many people. If digital technology is widely applied, we think that visitors will enjoy coming to the museum, because there they can not only see and feel but also interact. In particular, if projection technology is applied, we will recreate many more vivid spaces, especially during the anti-American resistance war with many memories of a fiery time of the nation such as letters, diaries and wartime memorabilia”, added Deputy Director of Nghe An Museum Phan Thi Ha Long.
In order to bring into the digital experience space, the Department of Culture and Sports, Nghe An Museum and the construction unit have made great efforts to complete the project on schedule. The inauguration and putting into service of phase 1 of the "Digital Experience Space" is considered an important milestone of Nghe An Museum to meet the practical development and the increasing demand for enjoying historical and cultural values of the public.

“The trend of modernization through the application of digital technology in exhibitions is an inevitable trend of modern museums. With the development of current technology, applications in exhibition introductions are increasingly diverse and more practically oriented towards the public. The project's operation is a premise to create an additional official information channel to effectively promote and introduce the history, culture of the land and people of Nghe An province to domestic and foreign tourists. This not only contributes to promoting the rich historical and cultural values of Nghe An but also greatly contributes to promoting economic development and sustainable tourism development”, affirmed Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports.
