These are 04 subjects who established a drug trafficking and transportation ring from Laos to Vietnam. Through the fight and destruction, the police force seized 10 heroin cakes, 09 kg of crystal meth, 20,000 synthetic drug pills. This is the largest amount of drugs seized so far in Yen Thanh district.

To successfully capture the subjects in this ring, members of the investigation team and officers and soldiers of Yen Thanh District Police spent many months diligently investigating and monitoring the subjects' movements.

In early March 2019, Yen Thanh District Police, through professional work, discovered a drug trafficking and transportation ring with a large quantity of drugs, gathered and transported from Laos to Yen Thanh and Do Luong districts, then sold in the northern provinces.

This ring was led by Nguyen Dinh Giang, born in 1960, residing in Hamlet 6, Hung Son Commune, Anh Son District, in collusion with a number of subjects in Yen Thanh and Do Luong Districts. After organizing verification and identifying signs of criminal activities by Nguyen Dinh Giang and his accomplices, Yen Thanh District Police established a special project, with Lieutenant Colonel Pham Ngoc Canh - Head of the District Police as Head of the special project.

After a period of monitoring, the task force determined that the organizational structure and operating rules of this network were very tight and sophisticated. Nguyen Dinh Giang was the mastermind and leader, who colluded with Mong people in Laos to transport drugs from Laos to Giang in the border area of Anh Son district.

After contacting and placing orders with a number of Mong people in Laos, Nguyen Dinh Giang informed Hoang Danh Diep and transferred money to Giang to buy drugs. When receiving drugs from the Lao people, another person would meet Giang directly to receive the drugs and bring them to Yen Thanh for consumption. Meanwhile, Hoang Danh Diep and Nguyen Cong Cuong would meet Giang directly to receive and transport the drugs to Do Luong district for consumption.

During the investigation, the Task Force encountered many difficulties because the subjects were familiar with the area, had a wide range of activities, and often met in person to discuss methods of operation, and rarely communicated via mobile phone. However, with high determination, the Task Force concentrated its forces, developed a plan of investigation, surveyed the area, grasped the subjects' movements, and waited for an opportunity to solve the case.

On November 22, 2019, through professional measures, the Investigation Committee determined that Nguyen Dinh Giang had received from a Laotian subject 10 heroin cakes, 09 kg of ice and 20,000 synthetic drug pills, worth about 100,000 USD. After receiving the goods, Giang informed Ngoc and Diep to arrange for delivery at Dinh Son commune, Anh Son district.

The task force deployed many reconnaissance teams to monitor the movements of the subjects, and set up "reconnaissance stations" directly on National Highway 7A and the Ho Chi Minh trail. After determining that Hoang Danh Diep had received drugs, the task force arrested Diep in Anh Son district, seizing 71 pink pills and 01 Mitsubishi Xpander car, license plate 37A - 578.90.

Expanding the case, on the afternoon of November 22, 2019, the Special Task Force detained Nguyen Cong Cuong in an emergency at the house of Pham Van Hung, born in 1977, residing in Hamlet 15, My Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District, and seized an Inova car with license plate 37A - 407.02. At the same time, Pham Van Hung was caught red-handed for illegally storing drugs, and 236g of heroin and 800 synthetic drug pills were seized.

Pham Van Hung confessed that this amount of drugs was given to him by a junior of Giang in exchange for the LEXUS car that Hung was using. After arresting most of his henchmen, assuming that Giang would flee, the task force was quickly deployed to capture the subject. On November 25, 2019, the Task Force arrested Nguyen Dinh Giang who was on the run, and seized 136 more synthetic drug pills.

Captain Chu Tu Duc - Head of the Criminal, Economic and Drug Team of Yen Thanh District Police said: During the drug delivery process, the subjects divided into many groups, traveling by car and motorbike to keep watch and rescue their accomplices if discovered. All subjects used drugs regularly, especially "ice".

During the investigation, the ringleader Nguyen Dinh Giang confessed: On the morning of November 23, 2019, Giang asked a junior to use 01 heroin cake to exchange and buy a silver LEXUS car, registered with license plate 0694 (Lao license plate) of Pham Van Hung. At about 12:00 p.m. the same day, Nguyen Dinh Giang and his juniors went to Pham Van Hung's house to exchange and buy the car. After the exchange, Nguyen Dinh Giang drove the car to Anh Son district. On November 25, 2019, the Task Force seized the car.

After arresting Nguyen Dinh Giang, the task force raised many questions about the large amount of drugs that Giang had received from a Laotian subject. After careful calculation, the drug detectives determined that Nguyen Dinh Giang was hiding the amount of drugs, so they organized a search. After 3 days and nights of persistent struggle and exploitation, with convincing evidence, by dawn on November 28, 2019, Nguyen Dinh Giang confessed to buying from the Laotian subject 10 heroin cakes, 09 kg of crystal meth and 20,000 synthetic drug pills for a total of 100,000 USD and was hiding them in a pile of tiles behind the house of his son, Nguyen Dinh Vu, born in 1986 in Anh Son district. The task force organized a search and seized all of the above evidence.

Currently, the case is being further investigated and expanded by Yen Thanh District Police./.
