(Baonghean.vn) - That is the thought of Mr. Xong Ba Cha - Head of Minh Chau village, Tri Le commune (Que Phong) - who is not only active and enthusiastic in the village's movements, but also a leading example in economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction in the locality.

Minh Chau village, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district has nearly 80 households, with 365 people, mainly ethnic Mong people from 8 villages, who have relocated to the new economic zone. With the characteristics of 100% ethnic minorities, limited education level, and backward economic development thinking... but now, the lives of the people here have changed a lot. That is thanks to the dynamism and creativity of the young village chief Xong Ba Cha.

Thanks to the application of science and technology, each crop season, Mr. Xong Ba Cha's family harvests over 1 ton of rice.

Understanding the poverty caused by shifting cultivation, nomadic life, and clearing forests for farming, Xong Ba Cha tried his best to go to school to pursue "literacy" with the desire to escape poverty. And he passed the entrance exam to Nghe An Pedagogical College. In 2009, he graduated. Although he could not fulfill his dream of standing on the podium, Xong Ba Cha was not discouraged, with the thought that when he had "literacy and knowledge", everything would be effective and he was determined to stay in the village, restore the rice fields, and develop the economy.

Elected by the villagers as the village chief, the first days were full of difficulties and challenges for him, because the customs and habits of the Mong people only know how to farm, cultivate, get married. To change the villagers' perception, the village chief of Xong Ba Cha went to each house to persuade relatives in the family, then, in village meetings, he and the Party cell, the Front's working committee and organizations propagated the Party's policies and guidelines so that everyone could understand and follow them.

To increase the persuasion of people to follow, he himself always sets an example in everything. In addition to implementing family planning well, he and his wife are also pioneers in wet rice production in the new economic zone Minh Chau. Thanks to diligence, hard work and applying the right technical process in cultivation, each year he harvests 1 ton of rice, ensuring enough food for the whole family and having surplus to develop livestock.

In addition, he also grows sugarcane, cassava, fruit trees such as pineapple, banana, peach, passion fruit, guava and raises chickens, etc. to increase his income. Not only does he enrich his family, but he is always willing to help, share and exchange business experiences with the villagers. With these achievements, in 2013, Xong Ba Cha was honored to join the Party when he was only 26 years old.

Following his example, the Mong people in Minh Chau village, Tri Le commune did not cross the border to Laos to make a living; the youth studied hard and participated in social activities; economic development movements were paid attention by the people. In addition to farming, planting corn, cassava and reclaiming land to grow rice, people also planted sugarcane and passion fruit to increase their income. Thanks to that, the face of Minh Chau countryside has gradually changed.

Mr. Vi Van Cuong - Chairman of Tri Le Commune People's Committee said: "Previously, the life of Mong people in Minh Chau village was very difficult. Now, thanks to the leadership of the Party Committee and local government, including the village chief Xong Ba Cha, the way of thinking and working of Mong people has changed, thanks to which the life of people in Minh Chau village has gradually stabilized, people have learned how to do business and escape poverty".

With the achievements, Xong Ba Cha was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism for its outstanding achievements in the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas"; the Provincial Youth Union honored "Outstanding young people in the movement of following Uncle Ho's teachings"...
