Saving the eyes of a second grade boy who was hit by a firecracker

On the afternoon of February 12, after a week of emergency care and treatment at Nghe An General Hospital, Nguyen Thanh Luong (a 2nd grade student) - seriously injured by a firecracker explosion, was discharged from the hospital and returned to his hometown (Lien Hoa village, Duc Lien commune, Vu Quang district, Ha Tinh).
Nguyen Van Thuan (Luong's father) said: "Thanks to the dedication and care of the doctors and nurses, Luong's eyes have opened, although they are not as normal as before. Now I am taking my child home to prepare for the 2018 Lunar New Year. After Tet, I will take my child to Nghe An Provincial General Hospital for a check-up."
Thuan's family is in a difficult situation. Recently, he and his wife have been working far away, while Luong stays at home with his grandparents who are over 70 years old. On February 3, Luong picked up a firecracker and brought it home to light it.
The firecrackers exploded, injuring Luong's hand and causing severe burns to his face. Relatives and neighbors took Luong to the Nghe An General Hospital for emergency treatment, where he was unable to open his eyes. Doctors and nurses tried their best to save Luong's face and eyes.
