Digging the foundation of a house, unexpectedly found a jar of ancient coins weighing 10kg
(Baonghean.vn) - While digging the foundation for a house, the family of Mr. Vu Van Dien (60 years old), residing in Hamlet 4, Yen Thanh town, dug up a large earthenware jar containing hundreds of ancient bronze coins weighing about 10kg.

Accordingly, at around 9am on February 6, while Mr. Vu Van Dien's family was using an excavator to dig the foundation of their house, they discovered an ancient earthenware jar lying at a depth of nearly 2m. However, due to the excavator's digging process, the jar was broken into many pieces, and ancient coins spilled out and mixed in with the soil and rocks.
Immediately afterwards, the family collected the coins on the ground to check. The amount of coins found was estimated at about 10kg, the age of which is currently unknown. In addition, in the earthenware jar there was also an ancient porcelain plate, but it was broken by the impact of the excavator.

Mr. Dien said: "There are still many coins scattered around the house foundation digging area, but because most of the coins have rusted from being underground for so long, the family did not bring them up."
The money brought up after being washed and examined with the naked eye showed that the money was made of copper, round, with a square hole, 2.4 cm in diameter, 0.1 cm thick, one side of the coin had Chinese characters, the other side had no characters.

The incident attracted many curious locals who came to watch, believing that the family had dug up money on the "God of Wealth" day, so this year would be prosperous.
