"Raiding" a warehouse containing 50,000 pirated books and notebooks
More than 50,000 pirated books and notebooks include 18 titles, mainly English books of various levels and spelling books for primary and secondary schools.
At around 5:00 p.m. on August 11, the Central Anti-Illegal Printing Joint Stock Inspection Team, including representatives of the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution (Ministry of Information and Communications), the Department of Cultural Information and Communications Security (A87, Ministry of Public Security), conducted an inspection at Van Hien Education Investment and Consulting Joint Stock Company at 105 Bac Cau Street, Ngoc Thuy Ward, Long Bien District, Hanoi.

At the time of the inspection, the working group discovered that this company was storing and preparing to release tens of thousands of pirated books from many publishers. Of which, the largest number belonged to the Vietnam Education Publishing House. The preliminary counting results showed that the working group identified more than 50,000 books including 18 titles, mainly English books of various levels, spelling books for primary and secondary school levels.

During the inspection, the director of Van Hien Company, Mr. Trieu Quang Phu, admitted that he imported the above books from other places, illegally, without invoices or documents proving the origin of the books. The representative of the Vietnam Education Publishing House present at the scene said that all the above books and notebooks were pirated products imitating the products of this publishing house.
Speaking to Infonet reporters, Mr. Pham Tuan Vu - Deputy Head of the Central Inter-sectoral Inspection Team for Anti-Illegal Printing - Deputy Director of the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution (Ministry of Information and Communications) said that this was a case of discovering a large number of pirated books with 50,000 copies. These uncensored books, when released to the market, will pose a danger to users.

According to Mr. Pham Tuan Vu, due to the serious nature of the violation of the Publishing Law in this case, the Inspection Team will make a recommendation to a higher level for handling. Mr. Trieu Quang Phu is at risk of being criminally prosecuted.
Authorities are temporarily detaining all of the above pirated products to clarify their origin.
