The latest leaks suggest that the Exynos 2600 will be Samsung's first 2nm chip, featuring a powerful 10-core CPU and AMD RDNA GPU, promising direct competition with Apple and Qualcomm.

The first technical details of Samsung's Exynos 2600 processor have been revealed, outlining a high-performance chip expected to power the Galaxy S26 series launching next year. This is believed to be the company's first mobile processor manufactured using a 2nm process.

According to leaker @UniverseIce, the Exynos 2600 will be manufactured using Samsung Foundry's 2nm process. The chip's CPU architecture includes 10 cores, divided into three different clusters to optimize performance and power consumption. Specifically, the configuration includes:

  • A single main CPU core has a clock speed of up to 3.9GHz.
  • Three high-performance CPU cores operate at 3.25GHz.
  • The six power-efficient CPU cores run at 2.75GHz.

These CPU cores are said to be based on Arm's new Lumex platform, promising significantly faster artificial intelligence (AI) processing performance compared to previous generations.

Upgrade your graphics with an AMD GPU.

In terms of graphics processing capabilities, the Exynos 2600 is equipped with an AMD Juno (Xclipse 960) GPU, developed based on the advanced RDNA architecture with a clock speed of 985MHz. This graphics processor supports modern application programming interfaces (APIs) such as OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 3.0, and Vulkan 1.3, ensuring high compatibility and performance for 2D and 3D graphics tasks.

Initial reports suggest that the Exynos 2600's GPU performance may surpass that of the Adreno 840, the GPU used in today's top-of-the-line Snapdragon chips. However, actual performance will need to be verified once the product is officially launched.

Challenges in the flagship market

The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are expected to use the Exynos 2600 chip in most markets, except for Canada, China, and the US. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line Galaxy S26 Ultra may be exclusively equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip globally.

The launch of the Exynos 2600 will mark a significant step forward for Samsung in the performance race against major rivals such as the Apple A19 Pro, MediaTek Dimensity 9500, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The performance efficiency and power management capabilities of this chip will be a decisive factor in determining Samsung's position in the high-end smartphone segment next year.
