In the sound of cicadas calling for summer, the round ball of the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children Football Tournament season 24 started rolling in the excitement and anticipation of everyone. From a grassroots tournament established in 1996, the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children Football Tournament has become the official annual tournament of the province, taking place on the occasion of International Children's Day (June 1) and Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21). Over the past 23 seasons, the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children Football Tournament has been organized more and more systematically and professionally. The tournament has contributed to promoting the socialization of physical education and sports in the province, the development of Nghe An and the whole country's football; it is a place to give wings to the dreams of becoming football "stars" of teenagers and children across the countryside of Nghe An.
After 2 years of interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year, with the utmost efforts of the Organizing Committee, the support of provincial leaders, departments, agencies, sponsors, leaders of 21 districts, cities, towns, coaches, parents, the 24th season officially opened in the common joy of young players and football fans of Nghe An.
This year's tournament has the participation of 28 football teams (8 youth teams, 20 children's teams) from 21 districts, cities and towns, with nearly 500 athletes. Of which, 7 localities registered to compete in both youth and children's age groups, including: Vinh City, Do Luong, Ky Son, Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Nghia Dan and Quy Hop. This is an opportunity for children to exchange, learn from each other and train themselves in the spirit of "Honest, noble and united sports", living in the days of "eating football, sleeping football".
With the motto of giving the best to children, the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training Trade Union, the Children's Support Fund, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education, sponsors... have prepared gifts and certificates of merit to award to players participating in the tournament to encourage and motivate them to study well and play football well; exchange and give meaningful gifts to disadvantaged students of the same age at SOS Children's Village Vinh... During the tournament, the children will participate in sideline activities such as: interacting and taking souvenir photos with the national players at the press conference and the draw for the group stage; attending the matches at the Tu Hung Cup, watching professional players, football "stars" of the clubs competing in the V.League such as SLNA, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh and Da Nang compete in the "Fire Pan of Vinh"; visiting the traditional room, the accommodation and training place of SLNA players... so that the children can learn and nurture their dreams of becoming professional players.
From this season, in addition to the organizing members of Nghe An Newspaper, the Department of Culture and Sports and Song Lam Nghe An Sports Joint Stock Company, the Department of Education and Training will join the Organizing Committee of the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football Tournament. With the participation and membership of the Organizing Committee of the Education and Training sector, the tournament will be larger and more widespread, aiming to make football an optional sport in schools, in order to promote the capacity and qualities of students in the whole province, promoting the development of the school sports movement.
The new feature of this year's tournament is that the number of athletes per team is greater than in previous years (18 players/youth team, 16 players/children's team), the competition time is longer and more scientific,...
In the work of propaganda and promotion of the tournament, the Organizing Committee will broadcast live the press conference, the draw, the opening ceremony, the closing ceremony, the finals, the semi-finals and some matches in the group stages, on the digital platforms of Nghe An Newspaper (Nghe An Electronic Newspaper, Nghe An Television Channel, Nghe An Newspaper Youtube Channel, Nghe An Newspaper Fanpage pages...), along with that, analysis articles, comments, photo series, sideline information... will also be updated on the printed publications of Daily Newspaper, Nghe An Weekend, Mountainous - Ethnic Special Page...
Nghe An football fans from all over the country, both at home and abroad, who cannot go to the stadium to cheer, can enjoy live the great football, the beautiful goals, the exciting and dramatic matches on Nghe An Newspaper Television. Young players can also review or share their goals and performances after each match through video clips, goal highlights on Nghe An Newspaper's multimedia publications. Along with that, central press agencies and Nghe An Television (NTV) will also participate in updating information about the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children Football Tournament, contributing to spreading the image of the tournament to the public and football lovers across the country.
