Indian Navy's stealth warship INS Sahyadri returns to Da Nang and will conduct bilateral maritime exercises at sea.
The Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs said that three Indian ships Sahyadri, Shakti and Kamorta, with 913 officers and sailors, will dock at Tien Sa port, starting a friendship visit to Da Nang city from May 21 to 25.
The delegation was led by Rear Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, Commander, Eastern Fleet. The visit to Da Nang is part of the ongoing operational deployment of the Eastern Fleet (Indian Navy) to Southeast Asia and the Northwest Pacific.

Before leaving Vietnam, the Indian Navy will conduct a joint maritime exercise with the Vietnamese Navy on May 25. The two navies will have a detailed meeting to discuss the exercise plan before going to the field.
In recent times, the Indian Navy has had many cooperative activities with the Vietnam Navy, especially in the fields of training, repair, maintenance and logistics support.
Indian warships have made several friendly visits to Da Nang and conducted non-military exercises with the Vietnamese Navy. In June 2013, four Indian Navy ships arrived in Da Nang for rescue exercises.
