In 2023, the remote land of Ky Son has 1,087 poor households and households with housing difficulties who will benefit from the housing support program launched by the Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, and actively supported by the Ministry of Public Security and agencies, units, organizations and individuals. With the starting point of being one of the poorest districts in the country, Ky Son district identified this as an opportunity to complete the goal of eliminating temporary houses and thatched houses in the annual poverty reduction criteria. Therefore, the locality mobilized the participation of the entire political system from the district level to the village level.
Mr. Vi Thai Thuan - Secretary of Ky Son District Youth Union shared that the biggest difficulty in implementing the project was transporting cement, sand, gravel, and construction materials to remote and border areas to implement the projects. In that situation, the Youth Union of Ky Son District Police and the grassroots youth unions in the communes together carried bags of cement, sand, and water cans, overcoming each cliff and pass.

For example, in Cha Lat village (Muong Tip commune), located 5 km from the commune center, people live scattered on the mountain slopes. Of the 7 households supported to build houses, 3 of them are located precariously on the slopes. Or in Luu Tien village (Chieu Luu commune), transporting raw materials to build houses is also extremely difficult. However, thousands of members from 21 local Youth Union bases have coordinated well with the District Police Youth Union to overcome difficulties so that people can soon have houses. Thanks to that, in less than 2 months since the implementation, Ky Son district has basically completed its huge workload.
Understanding the shortages and hardships in their living places, the youth of Ky Son district also contributed human and material resources to participate in the process of building new rural areas in the locality. Projects such as: the road to the Nam Can Commune Police Headquarters; the road to Cha Ca village, Bao Thang commune; the inter-village road in Na Loi commune, Huoi Tu commune... all have the important mark of the volunteer green shirts.

During the 2017-2022 term, the youth of Ky Son district participated in repairing 50 km of rural roads, concrete roads, and intra-field canals, and coordinated with the District Electricity to annually organize power grid corridor clearance campaigns with a total length of over 100 km. Ky Son District Youth Union has called for and mobilized hundreds of millions of VND to support the construction of houses for the poor and support children in the district. The model "Foster Children of the Union" continues to be implemented, currently, the whole district is receiving help and support for more than 70 children, contributing significantly to the comprehensive development of the locality.
As for the youth of Thanh Chuong district, over the years, the Youth Union has been proactive and flexible in creating bridges with businesses, organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to mobilize maximum social resources. From there, plans are made to organize appropriate activities associated with the implementation of local political and social tasks. Especially, in Ngoc Lam and Thanh Son communes - where there are resettlement villages of ethnic minorities, the care and companionship of the people are even more concerned and focused.

In 2023 alone, Thanh Chuong district youth supported the construction of 4 charity houses, implemented a project to light up rural roads with a length of 3.5 km, with a total cost of 180 million VND; supported the construction of 7 volleyball courts for children, with a total value of nearly 1.5 billion VND; presented more than 2,265 gifts, with a total value of more than 1.2 billion VND to disadvantaged people; organized 12 examinations, consultations, and free medicine distribution for nearly 1,800 poor households and policy families. These efforts have built trust and unanimous support from sponsors. At the same time, ensuring practicality, effectiveness, and creating great influence in the community and society.

For nearly 2 years, 193 ethnic minority students and teachers at Muong Piet School - Thong Thu 1 Primary School (Que Phong) have said goodbye to dilapidated thatched classrooms, replacing them with new, spacious and sturdy classrooms. This is one of the schools that Nghe An youth have called for and accompanied the Vietnam Volunteer Resource Information Center to carry out a series of projects "Beautiful schools for children" in 3 difficult areas of the province.

In addition to Que Phong district, there are also 2 Pa Ca kindergartens belonging to Nam Can Kindergarten (Nam Can commune, Ky Son district); Tong Khu village school, Na Ngoi 1 Primary School (Na Ngoi commune, Ky Son district).
In addition to the three spacious schools built on difficult mountainous lands, during the past term, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and its partners have called for resources to start the construction of four community bridges in Tan Ky, Con Cuong, Que Phong districts and Hoang Mai town. These are truly youth projects bearing the imprint of youth, aiming to bring practical projects to people in difficult areas.

The youth volunteer movement with a focus on mobilizing human resources and material resources to support disadvantaged villages and communes, remote areas, and isolated areas has always been a key goal of Nghe An youth. In 2023 alone, the whole province organized 7 provincial-level youth projects, 204 district-level youth projects, 3,227 grassroots youth projects and tasks, with a total value of more than 40 billion VND. In particular, in localities that are completing the criteria for new rural construction, the implementation of youth projects is even more exciting and effective.
The Youth Union organizations have actively sought resources to care for and support 405,000 disadvantaged children, with a total value of more than 16 billion VND. At the same time, scholarships worth more than 9 billion VND were awarded to 6,035 students in need.

Many creative models and good practices associated with digital transformation have been discovered and effectively applied by union members and youths to the volunteer movement, bringing practical benefits to society. These initiatives not only help increase work efficiency but also help save the State budget.
The clear imprints of Nghe An youth can be seen through the application of digital technology in introducing and promoting historical and cultural relics, introducing products produced by young people, etc. In particular, the Youth Union at all levels has demonstrated its core role in community digital technology groups in highland villages and ethnic minority areas, actively contributing to the national digital transformation.

After tireless efforts in effectively implementing volunteer activities towards the province's difficult areas as well as quickly adapting to organizing volunteer activities associated with digital transformation, Nghe An youth has become one of the typical units of the North Central region, annually commended by the Central Youth Union and awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union. Many individuals were honored as "Youth living beautifully" and "Youth contributing to the community".
These are evidences of the role of Nghe An youth in overcoming difficulties, contributing to building a strong and prosperous province, developing comprehensively in all areas of life. The development of the province is the driving force for Nghe An youth to constantly strive, as General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed at the 12th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (term 2022 - 2027) that: "Young people have been and are present, promoting their youthful strength, pioneering spirit, and volunteering in difficult and arduous places, new and difficult tasks, contributing their youthful strength to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland..." throughout history and in the present period.
