Effective implementation of 'dual goals' in Dien Chau

From the beginning of the epidemic season to December 12, 2021, Dien Chau recorded a total of 343 positive cases of Covid-19 in 33 communes. The Steering Committee and the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Command Center of the district urgently directed tracing, zoning, and testing to ensure prevention, detection, and control of the epidemic in the fastest time.

The district has established thousands of community Covid-19 teams in 37 communes and towns. It has established teams to patrol, control, and handle violations of Covid-19 prevention and control regulations.

Focus on directing agencies, units, People's Committees of communes and towns to promote the widespread dissemination of the Ministry of Health's 5K message, and the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic with more than 1,200 news articles and more than 20 million information accesses on social networking sites. Organize many practical and meaningful activities such as: Campaign to support the prevention and fight against the Covid-19 epidemic; Program "1,000 loving meals" to serve concentrated quarantine points; Program of free stalls, supporting the transportation of goods and essential necessities; Support for online learning equipment for students in especially difficult circumstances in the district...

Through the campaign to support the prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic launched by the District Fatherland Front Committee, agencies, units, individuals and enterprises have donated money and goods worth 12.8 billion VND. The management and use of funds from the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Fund are carried out in accordance with the regulations and instructions of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

Developing winter crop production towards commodity production

It can be seen that 2021 is a year in which Dien Chau in particular and the whole province in general face many difficulties, especially the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, which greatly affects the production and consumption of agricultural products. In that situation, Dien Chau has implemented many solutions with farmers to develop winter crop production in the direction of commodities, linking product consumption and meeting market demand to bring higher and more sustainable economic efficiency.

Typically, after the merger, Minh Chau commune has more than 900 hectares of agricultural land, mainly for rice production. It is very difficult to mobilize people to grow the winter crop because it is a low-lying area prone to flooding. Therefore, the commune does not deploy it simultaneously but chooses points for expansion. It chooses 3 fields suitable for soil conditions to plan into an area for growing chives, an area for growing vegetable seeds, and an area for growing melons, squash, etc. Thanks to that, this winter crop, Minh Chau has 60 hectares of commercial crops.

Or Dien Phong commune has 160 hectares of agricultural land, of which 120 hectares are fertile land, the rest is rice land. Mr. Pham Thanh Vuong - Chairman of Dien Phong Commune People's Committee said: What few communes can do like Dien Phong is that in the winter crop, 100% of the production land area is planned for crops. In which, focusing on converting traditional crops with low economic value to growing commercial crops such as 40 hectares of rice land that previously only grew corn or village potatoes for animal feed, now switched to growing pumpkin and sweet corn, and the fertile land is focused on high-quality vegetables such as potatoes and hot peppers. In addition to converting the crop structure, Dien Phong also actively connects and signs contracts with businesses to consume products in the winter crop for people, so the average income is nearly 10 million VND/sao.

With the motto of both safe and effective production, the District People's Committee directed to base on the market, conditions and capabilities to determine the scale and production area associated with the planning of high-income fields in the direction of linkage, maximizing the potential and advantages of the locality, ensuring the production of nearly 3,800 hectares of winter crop according to plan, while focusing on converting the structure of new crops with high economic efficiency to replace traditional crops with low value.

Accordingly, Dien Chau increased the area of ​​commercial vegetables to 1,200 hectares, increased the area of ​​peanuts to nearly 900 hectares and nearly 1,000 hectares of biomass corn. In particular, there are about 100 hectares of commercial crops such as potatoes, hot peppers, and cucumbers produced according to the model of linking with businesses to consume products for farmers.

Resolutely clear the highway

Along with epidemic prevention and promoting winter-spring crop production, one of the key tasks that the district has determined to complete on schedule is to clear the land for the North-South expressway, National Highway 1A.

It is known that the expressway project through Nghe An province is about 87.84 km long, including 2 projects Nghi Son - Dien Chau and Dien Chau - Bai Vot, passing through Hoang Mai town and the districts: Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc and Hung Nguyen.

The Nghi Son - Dien Chau component project has a length of 15.35 km in 8 communes: Dien Doai, Dien Yen, Dien Lien, Dien Xuan, Dien Dong, Dien Hanh, Dien Quang and Dien Cat (Dien Cat is calculated from National Highway 7A and beyond).

Recently, recognizing the importance of the project, the District Compensation and Site Clearance Council, along with the Party Committees and authorities of the communes in Dien Chau, have focused on propaganda and mobilization work to help people understand and agree.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Huy - Chairman of Dien Cat commune said: On both expressways passing through the commune including Dien Chau - Bai Vot and Nghi Son - Dien Chau, the total number of affected households in Dien Cat is over 500 households. With the mobilization of the entire political system, good propaganda and mobilization work, 100% of Dien Cat households have received resettlement land, many families have built houses to quickly give up land for the project. To achieve such results is thanks to the voluntary spirit of the people when being propagated, mobilized for democracy, discipline and responsibility.

According to the report of Dien Chau District People's Committee: As of November 10, 2021, the length of cleared land: 14.74 km/15.34 km (600 m remaining). The entire route has 03 resettlement locations, including: Dien Dong 01 location; Dien Doai 01 location and Dien Phuc 01 location.

In the past time, the district has focused and prioritized maximum time and human resources to clear the land, handle problems and shortcomings. In addition, it has focused on clearing resettlement land, building resettlement areas to hand over the entire route, meeting the schedule set by the Ministry of Transport.
