Conference to evaluate the implementation of preferential treatment for meritorious people

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of October 16, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs held a conference to evaluate the implementation of preferential policies for people with meritorious services and the results of implementing Decree No. 31/2013/ND-CP and Decree No. 28/2013/ND-CP of the Government.

In the first 9 months of 2013, the whole province has been paying regular allowances to 81,538 beneficiaries with a payment amount of nearly 110 billion VND/month. In addition, the work of caring for policy families has been of interest to the province, departments and many urban districts. This year alone, 9.975 billion VND has been collected from the gratitude fund, 281 houses of gratitude have been renovated and repaired for policy families with a total amount of nearly 10 billion VND. The work of granting and exchanging certificates of merit from the Fatherland, implementing one-time allowances, and supporting housing for people with revolutionary contributions has been implemented synchronously and has achieved many remarkable results.

Conference overview

In the coming time, to better implement Decree 31/2013/ND-CP on a number of articles of the Ordinance on preferential treatment for people with revolutionary contributions, the Labor sector will focus on 11 main issues. In particular, in parallel with continuing to review to convert subsidies, implement the regime for revolutionary activists imprisoned by the enemy and those serving Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, the sector will also urgently resolve correctly, sufficiently, and promptly for other subjects such as people infected with toxic chemicals, relatives of martyrs... Focus on reviewing and classifying martyrs' records to monitor the implementation of the worship subsidy regime, issue health insurance cards to subjects who are relatives who do not receive monthly subsidies of martyrs, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, and heroes of labor during the war; carry out well the work of visiting and giving gifts to people with revolutionary contributions, relatives of martyrs' families on the occasion of Lunar New Year.

On this occasion, the Conference also heard a report on the results of implementing the Law on Persons with Disabilities according to Decree 28/CP of the Government.
