Nghe An Journalists Association was honored with the Emulation Flag of the Vietnam Journalists Association in 2023

Attending the conference were representatives of the Vietnam Journalists Association, representatives of departments, branches and sectors of Thanh Hoa province.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Pham Van Tuan - Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee informed delegates about the local socio-economic situation.

He also acknowledged the outstanding achievements of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Journalists Association in the past year, and hoped that in the coming time, the Provincial Journalists Associations in the cluster would further promote the emulation movement, strengthen connections, share information, replicate good models, continue to share and exchange experiences in professional activities, improve the professionalism of local press teams, as well as advise and propose recommendations to local Party committees and authorities on new appropriate policies and mechanisms to create favorable conditions for the Association and press agencies to develop.

In 2023, the Journalists Association of the 6 North Central provinces has closely followed the professional and political tasks of each locality and unit, constantly enhancing the role of the Journalists Association in press activities in the area. In particular, the focus is on strengthening the inspection and supervision of compliance with the 2016 Press Law; 10 articles regulating professional ethics; Rules for the use of social networks by Vietnamese journalists; building a cultural press agency and the culture of journalists.

Over the past year, the units in the cluster have constantly innovated and diversified their professional and technical activities, organized well competitions and press awards, improved the quality of special publications; organized many exciting activities such as: Spring Press Festival, supported high-quality press works, organized and coordinated press awards, organized field trips and professional training, organized cultural, artistic and sports activities, etc., creating an exciting playground for journalists and members in the area.

Training and professional development are always of interest to units in the Cluster, contributing to improving the political capacity and professional qualifications of journalists, members and journalists in the area. During the year, the Journalists Association of the North Central Cluster provinces achieved many achievements at major press awards organized by the Central Government such as: Thanh Hoa Journalists Association won 01 C prize, 01 Encouragement prize; Nghe An Journalists Association won 01 C prize, 02 Encouragement prizes at the 2023 National Golden Hammer and Sickle Awards; Thanh Hoa Journalists Association has 01 work winning the Encouragement Prize, Nghe An Journalists Association has 01 work winning the B prize, 01 work winning the C prize, Ha Tinh Journalists Association has 01 C prize, Quang Binh Journalists Association has 01 B prize, 01 C prize, Quang Tri Journalists Association won 01 Encouragement Prize at the 2022 National Press Awards. Nghe An Radio and Television Station won the B prize, Nghe An Newspaper won the Encouragement Prize of the fourth National Press Award on anti-corruption, Nghe An Newspaper won the B prize of Dien Hong Press Award, Second Prize of the National Press Award on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, Nghe An Newspaper won 02 Encouragement Prizes and Ha Tinh Newspaper won 01 Encouragement Prize of the National Press Award on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas of Vietnam...

Promoting the achievements of 2023, in 2024, the Journalists Association of the 6 North Central provinces will continue to do a good job of propaganda and implementation of the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels, the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the State's policies and laws; Strengthen the inspection and supervision of the implementation of the Press Law, the Association's Charter, 10 articles of the Code of Ethics for Journalists; Code of Conduct on social networks; Build a cultural press agency and culture of Vietnamese journalists in the area.

Organize propaganda work well, seriously and extensively implement to each level of the association and members in implementing Plan 316-KH/BTGTW dated June 29, 2023 of the Central Propaganda Department on the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. Focus on professional training, effectively and qualitatively participate in press awards launched by the Central and local levels. At the same time, do a good job of advising localities in press orientation and criticism.

At the conference, the units in the cluster unanimously voted and proposed that the Vietnam Journalists Association award the Emulation Flag to the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association in 2023; Consider awarding Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Journalists Association to the Quang Binh and Quang Tri Provincial Journalists Associations. The Journalists Associations of the 6 provinces signed the emulation agreement in 2024 and awarded the flag of the 2024 Cluster Leader hosting unit to the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association.
