Coming to Hung Nguyen, we witnessed many high-tech agricultural models that have existed here. On the alluvial land that used to grow corn, potatoes, beans, and peanuts in Hung Linh commune, now there are greenhouses and net houses with all kinds of vegetables, fruits, melons, cucumbers, tomatoes, lilies, Taiwanese guava, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dat - Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Vfresh Garden High-Tech Organic Agricultural Service Cooperative said that in early 2021, from a construction engineer, he "turned" to agricultural economics and established his own cooperative. His first idea and model was the Aquaponics agricultural model in the form of "1 input, 2 outputs"; that is, raising catfish to harvest commercial fish, at the same time taking water and fish manure through microbial treatment to fertilize crops, completely without using synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, mud, etc. This model both reduces input costs and creates clean organic agricultural products.
Currently, on 1 hectare, Mr. Dat has built 4 greenhouses and net houses; divided into 4 production areas, including 2 production areas using Israeli technology; an area for raising fish and growing vegetables according to the Aquaponics model; an area for growing Taiwanese guava with more than 300 trees. And the future direction will focus on production according to the Aquaponics model, creating organic agricultural products whose consumption trend is increasing.
Along the strip of alluvial land, over 6.5 hectares of land that used to be left fallow in Long Xa commune are now a lush green color of burdock ginseng, squash, cucumber, guava... Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Director of the Thanh Vinh Clean Agricultural Products Supply and Consumption Cooperative branch said that more than 2 hectares of burdock ginseng are cultivated using high-tech production processes and have gone through 3 harvest seasons so far. If calculating the price of fresh ginseng, after deducting costs, each hectare earns more than 200 million VND. However, to meet the diverse needs of the market, in addition to selling fresh ginseng and dried ginseng, the Cooperative has organized deep processing of some products, such as tea bags, burdock extract, burdock powder, or providing raw materials for seasoning powder processing factories. Burdock ginseng products are now available at supermarkets and agents of the cooperative in Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, and Da Nang. Currently, the cooperative continues to propose to the government to expand the area to build a factory to deeply process products from burdock ginseng.
As the first Israeli high-tech agricultural model on the alluvial land and of Hung Nguyen district, after 4 years of production with the main crops of melons, strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers... of Phu Thinh Agricultural and Service Cooperative in Hung Thanh commune, it has brought high economic efficiency. Average income is 350 - 400 million VND/ha/year. In addition to the economic value, recently, some families and schools have chosen this high-tech agricultural model as an experience destination, so Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Director of the Cooperative said that in the coming time, it will develop a combination of experiential agricultural services to maximize the economic value of the model.
Comrade Le Pham Hung - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee said that attracting and creating conditions for organizations and individuals to build high-tech models on the Lam River alluvial land is one of the key directions in the district's agricultural development, in order to exploit the potential and advantages of the alluvial land which has long been used to grow only a few traditional crops such as corn, potatoes, peanuts with low efficiency or left fallow. Through these value chain production models, it is aimed at spreading and changing the mindset of agricultural production to the mindset of agricultural economics for people in the built models, such as the high-tech model in Hung Thanh and Long Xa communes, which has done a good job in this role; at the same time, from the models to support the construction of products with local characteristics that meet OCOP standards.
Along with directing the conversion and building of high-tech agricultural models in alluvial areas, in recent times, Hung Nguyen district has persistently directed the conversion of crop and livestock structures associated with promoting the application of scientific and technological advances in agriculture, creating clean agricultural products and increasing economic value.
In addition to the three high-tech agricultural models on alluvial land, Hung Thong and Hung Phuc communes have also built greenhouse and net house models. Hung Nguyen district has restored and expanded the area of Xa Doai oranges to 17 hectares in Hung Trung commune; introduced 3B cows to raise along the communes along the Lam River: Hung Linh, Long Xa, Xuan Lam, Chau Nhan; planned commercial vegetable growing areas in some communes such as Hung Tan, Chau Nhan, Hung Thanh, Long Xa, Hung Linh, etc.; implemented a model of linking enterprises to grow potatoes in Xuan Lam commune and garlic in Hung Tan commune.
The outlying communes of the district, including Hung Trung, Hung Yen Nam, Hung Yen Bac, focus on converting mixed hill gardens to grow ornamental peach trees for Tet and fruit trees: jackfruit, apple, guava, custard apple, lemon of all kinds (currently, clean lemons of Hung Yen Nam have a traceability code), associated with raising free-range chickens. In particular, the district has directed more than 5,600 hectares of rice production to produce high-quality commercial rice at a rate of 75%, of which there are 45 large fields/crop, gradually forming the Hung Nguyen fragrant rice brand. Livestock farming is planned in each region, concentrated in each locality in the direction of family farms, with a total of 158 farms, family farms in the whole district...
Comrade Le Pham Hung said that, from the practical direction and on the basis of analyzing the advantages of the locality adjacent to Vinh city, near industrial parks, favorable consumption of agricultural products, especially clean, high-quality agricultural products, quite large along with land factors, especially alluvial land with nearly 1,000 hectares; The District People's Committee has issued a Project on applying high technology in agricultural production in the district, period 2021 - 2025.
The project is aimed at creating a new breakthrough in agricultural production, creating a premise for building a sustainable organic agricultural production in the fields of cultivation, livestock and aquaculture, to promote large-scale commodity production, high productivity, quality, efficiency, environmental friendliness, creating high competitiveness in the market. To achieve this goal, based on the advantages of land concessions, weather and climate, the district plans 3 production areas associated with each group of key agricultural products to focus on directing. At the same time, specifically develop a number of investment support policies on irrigation, electricity, transportation, construction of greenhouses, net houses, new seed production models, etc.
With a systematic planning associated with the orientation of specific groups of plants and animals for each region; at the same time, proposing appropriate policies along with strong determination and direction, we believe that agriculture in Hung Nguyen district will create a new change in the coming time, contributing to the modernization of agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
