Opening Ceremony of the Nghe An Civil Servants' Union Sports Tournament
(Baonghean.vn) -To celebrate the successful conclusion of the Trade Union Congresses at all levels, leading up to the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, and in implementation of the 2013 Workers' Month, on the morning of May 24th, the Nghe An Public Employees' Trade Union organized the opening ceremony of the 2013 Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament.
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Le Van Dao - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Union, representatives of leaders from various departments and agencies, and 119 athletes from 41 out of 43 grassroots trade unions under the Nghe An Public Employees' Trade Union.

Over the years, the sports and physical activity movement at grassroots trade unions under the Provincial Civil Servants' Union has received increasing attention and enthusiastic participation from officials, civil servants, and public employees. After each workday, officials, civil servants, and public employees always dedicate time to practicing sports such as badminton, table tennis, volleyball, football, and aerobics. They also actively and effectively participate in sports competitions organized by their respective sectors and by the trade union. These activities have made a positive contribution to improving health, combating social vices, and building a cultural life among officials, civil servants, and public employees.
Before entering this year's competition, 41 grassroots trade unions made thorough preparations in all aspects for their athletes, determined to achieve high results. The athletes will compete over two days, May 24-25.

The Nghe An Newspaper team and the Procuratorate team began competing immediately after the opening ceremony.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes took to the field to compete. This year, Nghe An Newspaper had 5 athletes participating in both table tennis and badminton, and they won their first two matches.
