Survey on universal preschool education in Vinh city

(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the Plan to survey the implementation of the Project on universalizing preschool education for 5-year-old children, period 2010 - 2015, on the morning of September 8, the Department of Culture - Society, Provincial People's Council led by Ms. Ton Thi Cam Ha - Deputy Head of the Department of Culture - Society conducted a field survey at Cua Nam Kindergarten and Hong Son Kindergarten (Vinh City).

Also joining the delegation were comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training; representatives of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh city.

Ms. Ton Thi Cam Ha chaired the meeting at Hong Son Kindergarten.

Although located in the center of Vinh city, currently at these two schools, the facilities and equipment for caring for and nurturing children, especially the playground and sanitation areas, are still difficult.

As for Cua Nam Kindergarten, the school campus is located in the ward cultural house, so the classrooms are both lacking in quantity and cramped in area, while the total number of children in each class is too large, with 38 children per class for preschoolers and 46-48 children per class for nursery school.

The school also has 2 satellite schools at the cultural house of the block. With such facilities, up to now, Cua Nam ward is the only unit in the city that has not completed the universalization work for 5-year-old children.

Teacher Tran Thi Kim Thoa - Principal of Cua Nam Kindergarten requested that all levels pay attention to creating conditions for the school to have land and funding to build a new school to meet the needs of raising children.

The number of children in each class at Cua Nam Kindergarten is still overloaded.

For Hong Son Kindergarten, due to the difficulty in campus area, the school's scale has only 9 classes, so the pressure of annual enrollment is very large. Not only that, the area in each classroom is small, an average of 55 m2/room, in particular, there are 2 classrooms with only 35 - 36 m2 but the number of children in each class is 30 - 45 children. In difficult conditions, Hong Son Kindergarten has focused on prioritizing facilities and teaching staff for the work of universalizing 5-year-old children and was recognized for universalizing 5-year-old children in 2012.

Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi proposed that the Provincial People's Council continue to pay attention to investing in facilities for preschool education in general and for schools with difficulties in particular.

Hong Son Kindergarten prioritizes classrooms for 5-year-old children to meet universal standards.

Through the field survey, the working group of the Provincial People's Council acknowledged the efforts of the schools in ensuring the best possible conditions to complete the work of caring for and nurturing children. Sympathizing and sharing the difficulties of the schools, the delegation also requested the wards and schools to speed up the steps to complete the land procedures, ensuring the conditions for building a new school for Cua Nam Kindergarten and expanding the campus, upgrading classrooms for Hong Son Kindergarten according to the approved roadmap. The delegation also acknowledged the suggestions from the schools in requesting the Provincial People's Council to support capital for investment in facilities for the schools./.
