Ms. Dang Thi Yen in Vinh Tien hamlet, Dien Phong commune (Dien Chau) lost her husband early, she alone raised 2 children, life mainly depended on agricultural production. Therefore, her family's situation was very difficult, living in a dilapidated old house for many years. In 2023, the Farmers' Association of Dien Phong commune with the campaign "Bricks of Love" helped her family build a new, spacious house. The Farmers' Association of the commune gave 9,500,000 VND (4,750 bricks) to contribute to the construction of a house for Ms. Yen's family.
After many years of hard work and suffering from the sun and rain, at the end of 2023, Ms. Tran Thi Man and her children in Hamlet 10, Dien Thanh Commune (Dien Chau) had a new house, thanks to the joint help of farmers' association members in the whole commune with nearly 4,000 "Bricks of Love". Along with that, the Farmers' Association of Hamlet 10 also contributed labor and donated items when Ms. Man and her children moved into their new house.
In Quyet Thang hamlet, Dien Bich commune (Dien Chau), sharing the situation of Mr. Ho Van Vinh, who is raising a 10-year-old child and elderly parents alone, with a dilapidated house, the Commune Farmers' Association supported 1,500 bricks from the program "Bricks of Love" to help him build a new, solid house and stabilize his life.
Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Dien Chau district - Mr. Ngo Dinh Tuu said: As soon as the Provincial Farmers' Association launched the program "Bricks of Love", the Farmers' Association of Dien Chau district developed a plan, focusing on supporting the construction and repair of houses for poor members and members with housing difficulties; accordingly, mobilizing each member to support at least 10 thousand VND or 5 bricks per year, and Association officials to support at least 1 day's salary to contribute bricks to build houses. With its profound humanitarian meaning, the movement has been supported by farmers and created a positive effect. In just over half a year, the district's Farmers' Associations at all levels have donated nearly 18,000 bricks, worth 225 million VND and have supported 13 members to build houses.
Implementing Directive No. 21-CT/TU, dated February 10, 2023, of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership in mobilizing and supporting the construction and repair of houses for the poor in the province, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association organized the launching ceremony of the "Bricks of Love" Program to support poor members to build and repair houses for a period of 3 years (2023-2025).
In 2023, after launching, cadres, members, farmers, organizations and individuals donated over 4 billion VND. From this amount, 131 houses were supported, built and repaired for members. Particularly, civil servants and public employees of the Provincial Farmers' Association registered to contribute 150 million VND in 3 years to support the repair and construction of 3 houses for poor households. In 2023, the Provincial Farmers' Association also helped 1 household in Chau Thon commune, Que Phong district to build a house with an amount of 50 million VND.
Farmers' associations at all levels in the province continue to innovate, improve the quality and effectiveness of the movement of farmers competing in production, good business, solidarity to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably. In 2023, 550 poor households were helped with many good models and creative methods such as: Support for breeds, food, training in livestock farming techniques, fertilizers for crops, the "Cow Bank" project to help poor households develop their economy and escape poverty.
Up to now, the Provincial Farmers' Association has directed all levels of the association to build 555 environmental protection models, 636 models of organic fertilizer production, producing 33,939 tons of organic fertilizer; built 481 farmer model gardens, 190 new rural standard gardens. Since 2020, the Association at all levels in the province has planted 2,702 rows of trees, 224 "Farmers thank Uncle Ho" tree gardens (in early 2024 alone, 658 rows of trees, 55 tree gardens were planted); with a total length of more than 900km; total area of more than 120,000m2; total number of trees planted: 1,358,502 trees.
Deeply aware of Ho Chi Minh's ideology on agriculture and rural farmers "If our farmers are rich, our country will be rich, if our agriculture is prosperous, our country will be prosperous", implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW on "Promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle", Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Associations at all levels have developed many key programs and plans. Thereby, many typical collectives and individuals have appeared, such as: Thuong Tan Loc Commune Farmers' Association (Nam Dan) has done well in the work of "Improving the quality of grassroots association organizations in areas with Catholic compatriots to promote the development of agricultural and rural economy"; Thanh Thuy Commune Farmers' Association, Thanh Chuong District has done well in the work of "Focusing on promoting the building of a clean and strong Vietnamese Association and peasant class"; The Farmers' Association of Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city mobilizes members and farmers to actively participate in site clearance work in the commune"; "The Farmers' Association of Tan Ky district focuses on the grassroots".
Regarding individuals, there is Mr. Nguyen Song Quang - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Quynh Tan Commune (Quynh Luu), from 2020-2023, he and the Farmers' Association of the commune mobilized farmer members to donate over 10,000m2land to expand inter-village roads, contributing over 3 billion VND and more than 12,000 working days to build rural infrastructure; renovating and repairing nearly 45km of rural roads, repairing the cultural house grounds, ensuring spaciousness; launching the planting of "farmer trees grateful to Uncle Ho" with a total cost of 74.7 million VND; contributing to bringing the commune to the new rural finish line by 2020. Mr. Quang is also an active person in economic business, creating stable jobs for many local workers. Or Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khanh - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Thanh Chuong district has done a good job of "Innovating leadership methods, building the Association's work and a strong farmers' movement"...
Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association Nguyen Quang Tung assessed: The results achieved in the 2021-2023 period are a clear demonstration of the continuous efforts of the Farmers' Associations at all levels in thoroughly grasping, launching and implementing emulation movements associated with Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the Politburo. In the coming time, the Provincial Farmers' Association will continue to effectively implement emulation movements to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in association with building a strong and effective Association; enhancing the trust and attachment of farmers to the Association.
