Vinh city leaders direct evacuation of people from Dung Quyet landslide site
(Baonghean.vn) - After inspecting the landslide site on the edge of Dung Quyet mountain, Vinh City Party Secretary Phan Duc Dong directed local authorities to evacuate people to a safe place, and functional forces were on duty to not allow people to pass through the landslide site.
On the morning of September 29, comrade Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee inspected the landslide around Dung Quyet mountain, Trung Do ward.

On the afternoon and evening of September 28, along Ngo Thi Nham Street, along Dung Quyet Mountain, serious landslides occurred at 2 households. Specifically, at 5:00 p.m. on September 28, after heavy rain caused by storm No. 4, many blocks of earth and rock from Dung Quyet Mountain collapsed on the house of Mr. Truong Hai An, house number 211, Ngo Thi Nham Street.
At 11pm on September 28, Dung Quyet mountain continued to collapse, falling on Mr. Dau Doan Khanh's family - the household next to Mr. Truong Hai An's house.

Fortunately, no one was home at the time so there were no casualties. However, many of the family's properties such as refrigerators, washing machines, gas stoves, tables and chairs... were severely damaged. It is predicted that if it continues to rain, landslides will continue in neighboring households.

After the inspection, Vinh City Party Secretary Phan Duc Dong directed the Trung Do ward government and functional forces to perform urgent tasks including: Evacuating people and property of 2 households affected by landslides to safe shelters; closing doors and setting up barriers to prevent people from passing through the landslide area; assigning forces to be on duty 24/7 to handle incidents. The city will meet today to discuss handling the landslide situation in this area./.
