Participating in the pilgrimage to Uncle Ho's hometown before the anniversary of his birthday, Ms. Tran Thu Ha (Cao Bang province) shared: "Every year, on holidays, especially on his birthday, my family comes here to visit the Kim Lien Relic Site to commemorate Uncle Ho's merits. I have visited Uncle Ho's hometown many times, but every time I set foot on this land, my heart cannot help but be moved and moved."
Tourism in general and spiritual tourism in particular are strengths of Nam Dan district. In order to promote the tradition and heritage of President Ho Chi Minh's homeland, in recent times, Kim Lien commune has promoted and mobilized people to preserve cultural identity, build a civilized, polite, friendly and hospitable lifestyle. In addition, the commune continues to invest in building highlights in residential areas such as embanking rows of lotus ponds, building bright - green - clean - beautiful neighborhoods, investing in completing rural infrastructure, developing a number of experiential tourism models, sightseeing, and community learning to attract tourists.

Along with Kim Lien, Nam Giang commune has the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan on Dong Tranh mountain; there is the Eo Gio eco-experience garden with fresh nature, open space and many interesting activities. This is one of the destinations that many people enjoy, especially tourists from near and far when visiting the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh. Comrade Dang Hoang Linh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Giang commune said: The development orientation of the commune is to exploit the values of spiritual culture, ecological landscape associated with spiritual tourism, experiential community tourism. To achieve this goal, the locality has been trying to promote existing values, improve communication skills for people, expand tourism products, especially OCOP products, souvenir services, accommodation, and diverse cuisine to attract tourists.

Nam Dan district has a system of historical and cultural relics that are both rich in types and diverse in content. Each relic and scenic spot is associated with the names of predecessors who have made great contributions to the history of building and defending the country. Currently, the district has 173 relics and scenic spots. In particular, there are a number of typical relics with great cultural value to exploit for tourism development such as: Kim Lien National Special Relic Site, Phan Boi Chau Memorial Site, Hoanh Son National Special Architectural and Artistic Relic Site, Mai King Relic Cluster, Duc Son Pagoda and Temple, Vien Quang Pagoda, Dai Tue Pagoda, etc. Along with that, the system of intangible cultural heritage is rich, being one of the cradles of Vi Phuong Vai singing and many traditional festivals, including two major festivals: Mai King Temple Festival and Sen Village Festival.


Nam Dan is one of four districts nationwide selected by the Government to pilot the construction of a model new rural district, according to Decision No. 17/QD-TTg, dated January 4, 2019, of the Prime Minister in the direction of developing culture associated with tourism, period 2018 - 2025. The highlight in building a model new rural district of Nam Dan district is to mobilize all resources to complete the infrastructure system from the district to the grassroots. In particular, traffic infrastructure, tourism infrastructure, and cultural infrastructure are invested in synchronous and modern construction.
In Nam Dan district, a number of infrastructure projects connecting tourism have been completed, such as: Landscape of the road to Uncle Ho's paternal and maternal hometowns; Cau Don - Vien Quang pagoda road, town intersection road - King Mai's tomb area, the project of the Cooperative with Uncle Ho in Kim Lien... Historical, cultural and revolutionary relics have been preserved and restored. Cultural, artistic and sports movements and building a cultural lifestyle have been developed.

Nam Dan district also has many beautiful gardens, new rural standard gardens for tourists to experience. The district has built a number of new tourism models and tourism products from farms, hill gardens with natural or artificial landscapes, initially attracting tourists to come and experience. These are the eco-tourism model, the experience of Mr. Pham Ngoc Loi's family in Nam Nghia commune; the flower farm model of Mr. Pham Trung Kien's family in Kim Lien commune; the Eo Gio eco-tourism experience model in Nam Giang commune; the homestay tourism model of 4 households (Mr. Nguyen Sinh Chung, Mr. Nguyen Sinh Lac, Mr. Vuong Minh, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thuy) in Sen 3 hamlet, Kim Lien commune; the Hong garden tourist spot in Nam Anh commune. At the same time, the district focuses on directing the construction of many OCOP products that both increase the value of agricultural products in the area, increase income for people, and serve tourism.

The district also pays attention to attracting potential and strong investors to invest in tourism development in the area, for example, attracting T&T Group to invest in parking lots and tourism services at the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site; TH Group has surveyed to build a peaceful village, restore the Dragon sticky rice variety, grow medicinal plants... At the same time, the district has issued and effectively implemented the Project to build the cultural beauty of the civilized, polite, affectionate, friendly, and hospitable Nam Dan people associated with the implementation of the Code of Civilized Conduct in Tourism, the Code of Conduct in Public Places in the district. In addition, the district also coordinates with the Department of Tourism to welcome Farmtrip and Presstrip delegations of the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club, the Tourism Association; major travel companies in the province to survey and evaluate tourist destinations in Nam Dan district, from which to build tours and tourist routes to bring exciting experiences to visitors. In 2022, there will be nearly 1.7 million visitors to tourist destinations in the district, with tourism revenue reaching 290 billion VND.
Comrade Vuong Hong Thai - Vice Chairman of Nam Dan District People's Committee said: To achieve the goal of Nam Dan district being recognized as a model new rural district by 2025, linking culture with tourism development, in the coming time, the district will promote propaganda, promotion and tourism development with diverse, attractive forms. At the same time, the district will continue to mobilize resources to restore and embellish relics, preserve and promote cultural heritage values; invest in completing the transport infrastructure system, tourism infrastructure, connecting relic sites to form tours and tourist routes to attract domestic and international tourists, in order to effectively exploit cultural values associated with sustainable tourism activities.
