

The Politburo issued Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045; the Prime Minister approved the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050... These are important political and legal foundations to continue creating strong development momentum for Nghe An in the coming period.


Successfully organized the Dialogue Conference between the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the team of department-level managers and experts in the Provincial Agencies; Meeting and dialogue program between the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the heads of Party committees and authorities of communes, wards and towns in the province; Dialogue Conference between the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the youth of Nghe An province, with the theme "Nghe An youth creatively start businesses and establish careers"...


Administrative reform work has received attention, drastic leadership and direction and has made clear changes. Some indicators reflect that Nghe An's investment and business environment has improved positively, such as: Provincial Competitiveness Index ranked 23rd out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide, up 7 places compared to 2021; Administrative Reform Index ranked 16th, up 1 place compared to 2021; Public Administration Index ranked 17th. In particular, the Satisfaction Index of People and Enterprises (SIPAS) ranked 14th, up 21 places compared to 2021. In 2023, for the first time, the province organized the announcement of the Competitiveness Index of Departments, Branches and Localities (DDCI) in 2022.


The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate in the province is estimated at 7.14% (ranked 26th among provinces and cities nationwide; ranked 3rd in the North Central region); the economic scale ranks 10th out of 63 provinces and cities. Nghe An province continues to be in the top 10 localities attracting the largest FDI in the country; the total newly granted and adjusted investment capital for the whole year is expected to reach about 1.6 billion USD; the number of FDI projects has increased sharply, reaching a record level so far.


The whole province has 10 more communes meeting new rural standards, 35 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 6 communes meeting model new rural standards; 1 district meeting new rural standards (Hung Nguyen). It is expected that by the end of 2023, the whole province will have 319/411 communes meeting new rural standards; 88/319 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 12 communes meeting model new rural standards; 10 district-level units have completed their tasks and met new rural standards.


Completed and implemented many key transport projects. Notably, the North-South Expressway section Nghi Son - Dien Chau has been put into use; the coastal road from Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) to Cua Lo (Nghe An) section Km76-Km83+500; the Muong Xen - Ta Do - Khe Kien road section Km7-Km26; upgraded and expanded National Highway 15 sections Km301+500-Km315+700 and Km327+600-Km330...


Continue to maintain the achievements in the quality of key education, being among the top in the country in terms of the number of excellent students at the national, regional and international levels; comprehensive education quality is improved, the results of the 2023 high school graduation exam, Nghe An ranked 22nd nationwide; the quality of education in ethnic minority and mountainous areas continues to receive attention.


The health sector has directed medical facilities to synchronously implement solutions to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment services at all levels, and improve the quality of hospitals according to the criteria of the Ministry of Health. The development of new and high-tech techniques has always been of interest to hospitals, and many new techniques have been deployed and applied. It is estimated that by the end of 2023, the rate of communes meeting the national criteria on health will reach 93.04%; the rate of medical stations with doctors will reach 92.8%; 12.6 doctors/10,000 people; 37.36 hospital beds/10,000 people; the rate of malnourished children under 5 years old will decrease to 14.3%...


Cultural and social activities are organized in a variety of exciting forms, improving people's spiritual life. Social security work is directed with attention, notably the good implementation of Directive No. 21-CT/TU dated February 10, 2023 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on mobilizing and supporting the construction and repair of houses for the poor and people with housing difficulties in the period 2023-2025; initially, 148 organizations and individuals have registered to mobilize and support the program, with a total of 12,196 houses registered for support, equivalent to 618.449 billion VND (of which, 6,709 houses will be implemented in 2023).


National defense, security, order and social safety continued to be maintained. The work of preventing and combating crimes and law violations in the province was well implemented, contributing to maintaining security and order, serving the socio-economic development tasks of the province. Foreign affairs activities were actively implemented, achieving many positive results in many fields; successfully organizing many delegations of provincial leaders to connect and cooperate in investment with partners, investors and foreign enterprises such as the US, European countries, India, Singapore, Thailand, etc.
