In a widely circulated video, Vu Khac Tiep was seen walking past Ngoc Trinh from behind while she was being interviewed. Despite being only a few steps apart, the two had no interaction, acting as if they were strangers. This moment quickly became a topic of discussion on social media.
The reasons behind the rift.
At the end of 2023, Vu Khac Tiep officially confirmed that his relationship with Ngoc Trinh was no longer as close as before. The reason is believed to stem from him posting a video of Ngoc Trinh's motorbike accident on social media.
Vu Khac Tiep said: "Before the incident happened to Trinh, she sent me a clip of her falling off her motorbike. (...) After receiving it, I posted it online and said, 'I feel so sorry for you.' Five minutes later, I received a call from Trinh questioning why I posted the clip online. I apologized to Trinh and quickly removed the clip. But I discovered that Trinh had unfollowed me on social media."
The manager also shared that after Ngoc Trinh's ordeal, he was worried and tried to contact her to check on her when she returned home. However, Ngoc Trinh only read his messages without replying and blocked him on several social media platforms.
A friendship spanning nearly two decades.
Ngoc Trinh and Vu Khac Tiep were once considered one of the most prominent close friendships in Vietnamese showbiz. It was Vu Khac Tiep who discovered and mentored Ngoc Trinh from her early days in the entertainment industry, helping her build her career and become a widely known name.
