Thai man shoots dead 6 family members at New Year party
Feeling despised by his wife's family, Sucheep pulled out a pistol and shot dead six people, including his two children.

Sucheep Sornsung attended a New Year's party with his wife's family in Phato district, Chumphon province, southern Thailand but felt unwelcome simply because he was the son-in-law, according toAFPWhile drunk, Sucheep pulled out a gun and shot 6 people dead.
"All the victims were his family members, including his 9-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter," said Lieutenant Colonel Larp Kampapan of the Phato District Police Office. "They were shot in the head or torso. He was angry because he felt he was not welcomed by his wife's family at the party."
The remaining four victims were two men and two women aged 47-71. Sucheep then shot himself. The shooting occurred just 10 minutes after New Year's Eve.
Thailand is a country with a high rate of gun ownership and conflicts involving personal, romantic, and business disputes are often resolved with guns.
