Thanh Chuong is a land with a rich cultural history, patriotic and revolutionary traditions; a tradition of studiousness and mandarin examinations. Before the Party existed, Thanh Chuong already had a predecessor organization of the Party. As soon as our Party was born, the Thanh Chuong District Party Committee was one of the earliest established district Party Committees in the country, directly leading the revolutionary movement of the People with a seething spirit. A typical example was the general demonstration of 20,000 Thanh Chuong farmers with the spirit of "rising tide, cascading waterfall" on September 1, 1930, establishing a typical Soviet government in almost all villages and communes in the district.
The historic demonstration on September 1, 1930 in Thanh Chuong is considered the starting point marking the birth of the Soviet government in Nghe - Tinh, becoming the peak of the 1930-1931 revolutionary movement nationwide. The Party Document once stated: "This fierce demonstration, never seen before in An Nam, brought the workers and peasants to a new period, the first period of fierce struggle against imperialist capitalism and feudal landlords, the period when workers and peasants had to sacrifice for the revolution to demand the right to live and the right to freedom". September 1 was proudly chosen by the Party Committee and people of Thanh Chuong as the traditional day of the district.
Exactly 93 years since the "Unprecedentedly Fierce Protest in Annam", Thanh Chuong cadres and people, generation after generation, have strived to overcome hardships and difficulties to build an increasingly better life and develop their homeland.
Looking back at the first half of the term of the XXXI District Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, Thanh Chuong continues to create many marks in the socio-economic picture and the appearance of the homeland has clearly "changed skin, changed flesh". Currently, Thanh Chuong has many effective agricultural production models thanks to the persistent propaganda and mobilization of the Party Committee and the government, setting an example as a "model" by the cadres. The most successful is the conversion of land, accumulated to date is more than 480 hectares of rice land, colored land, ineffective wetland land to grow vegetables, fruit trees, lotus, fish farming, and make farms and mixed farms. Typical examples include the green squash model with a scale of over 50 hectares in the communes of Thanh Hoa, Thanh Linh, Thanh Xuan, Thanh Yen, Thanh Chi, Thanh Khe, Dai Dong ...; the potato model with a scale of 6.5 hectares in the communes of Thanh Yen, Phong Thinh, Thanh Lien; the garlic growing model with a scale of 1.3 hectares in Thanh Linh commune.
During the production process, people have gradually become aware of sustainable agricultural production, clean agriculture, environmentally friendly and highly effective. Including more than 10 hectares of organic oranges in Thanh Duc commune; purple garlic growing model in Thanh Linh commune, orange growing in Phong Thinh commune, beekeeping in Thanh Ngoc commune according to VietGAP standards.
Many high-tech livestock models apply, such as: Chicken farming model with a scale of 10,000 chickens/batch in Thanh Lien commune; duck farming model with a scale of 6,500 ducks/batch in Thanh Lam commune; pig farming model with a scale of 3,000 pigs/year in Thanh Lam commune and a scale of 1,500 pigs/year in Thanh Huong commune...
In the district, it is no longer rare to find farmers with annual revenues of billions of VND. For example, Mr. Tran Dien Vi's family grows 5 hectares of organic oranges, 2 hectares of tea, combined with large-scale livestock farming, bringing in annual revenues of about 2 billion VND; the model of raising 40,000 chickens/year of Hong Cuong Cooperative in Thanh Lien commune has a revenue of about 4.8 billion VND/year...
In the first half of the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee and authorities at all levels of Thanh Chuong district continued to expand foreign relations, strengthen mass mobilization work among cadres and party members, focusing on attracting and creating consensus to deploy and put into use 4 key projects and works identified in the congress resolution; including upgrading and expanding National Highway 46C, the Phong Thinh section to Cat Van and National Highway 46C at Thanh Lien intersection to Ho Chi Minh road; the road connecting National Highway 46C at Cau Mong to Son Tien (Ha Tinh); anti-erosion embankment to ensure people's lives along Lam River, the section passing through the communes of Vo Liet, Thanh Chi, Phong Thinh, Thanh Lien, Cat Van.
According to comrade Trinh Van Nha - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee: Although in the process of building the political report and the Resolution of the District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, based on the calculation of guaranteed resources, Thanh Chuong district has not dared to invest in a number of works and projects; however, thanks to the attention of the province and the unanimous participation of the people, a number of works and projects of breakthrough significance in the district's traffic infrastructure have been invested and put into use. Typically, Do Cung bridge across Lam river connecting Thanh Chuong and Do Luong districts; the road from National Highway 46 - Ngoc Son commune (Thanh Chuong district) to Nam Hung commune (Nam Dan district), connecting National Highway 15A to Truong Bon historical relic (Do Luong).
New rural development and the “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) program are also considered the hallmarks of the first half of the term in Thanh Chuong. In addition to the 18 communes meeting new rural standards at the end of 2020, in the past 2 years, the district has had 5 more communes meeting new rural standards and 3 communes meeting advanced new rural standards. The cumulative OCOP products to date are 20 3- and 4-star products.
Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee, Trinh Van Nha, said: To achieve that result, in the past half term, from the district to the grassroots level, we have focused our efforts, intelligence and financial resources to implement the entire system of socio-economic indicators; deploy key projects of the term, focusing on agricultural development, towards commodity agriculture and high-tech agriculture.
The movement in Thanh Chuong district in the first half of the 2020-2025 term is not only with new development marks in the transport infrastructure system, schools, civil works, many bright spots in agricultural economic development towards goods and high technology; but it is also the movement in the spirit of determination, creativity, innovation in the direction and administration of Party committees and authorities, the active participation of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations from the district to the grassroots.
Sharing experiences in leadership and direction, comrade Nguyen Hai Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thanh Chuong district said: Party committees from the district to the grassroots level pay attention to comprehensively innovating Party building work in terms of politics, ideology; organization and cadres; inspection, supervision; mass mobilization. Closely following the resolutions of the higher levels and the Resolution of the 31st District Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, the Party committee has concretized them into action programs, resolutions, and projects that are both comprehensive and focused to create breakthroughs. Along with that, the organization of study, dissemination, and propaganda is focused on by the district in terms of methodical, quality, and widespread factors; because if we want policies, resolutions, and projects to come into life, first of all, each cadre, party member, and person needs to know, understand, and then agree to implement them.
According to comrade Nguyen Hai Duong, in leadership and direction, the Party Committee clearly assigns tasks, responsibilities for leadership and coordination to each collective and individual; takes results and work efficiency as a measure to evaluate cadres; this is also a "channel" to arrange, mobilize and rotate cadres. In particular, promoting the exemplary role of leaders at all levels, agencies and units, inspiring and creating the combined strength of the entire political system and the entire people for the common goal of building a developed homeland and improving people's lives. On the other hand, the leadership and direction process has strengthened progress inspection; when problems or issues arise, the heads of the Party Committee and government must directly work with specialized departments, agencies and units to find out the causes and resolve them.
The results and lessons learned in leadership and direction in the first half of the term will be an important driving force for the Party Committee and People of Thanh Chuong district to continue their efforts to create many new results in the second half of the 2020-2025 term, making Thanh Chuong a fairly provincial district.
