Female land registry official in the commune extorted 30 million VND before issuing land ownership certificate.
The police have just initiated a criminal case, charged and temporarily detained Trinh Thi Tham (born in 1983), a civil servant in the land administration, agriculture, construction and environment department, on charges of "receiving bribes".
Previously, on September 16, 2022, the Ba Be District Police (Bac Kan province) received a criminal complaint from Mr. Be Cao Dang (born in 1972), residing in Na Kieng village, Khang Ninh commune, Ba Be district, regarding the following: In 2022, when Mr. Dang was applying for a land use right certificate, Trinh Thi Tham (land administration officialsThe Department of Agriculture, Construction and Environment of Khang Ninh commune, Ba Be district, demanded that he pay 30 million VND, otherwise they would not process his application.

On October 14, 2022, Tham personally went to Mr. Dang's house to receive 10 million VND in cash and transferred an additional 20 million VND to the account she provided. After transferring the money to Tham, Mr. Dang's application for a land use right certificate was then forwarded to the Ba Be District People's Committee.
The application was approved and Mr. Dang received the land use certificate. Now, Mr. Dang realizes that Tham's actions were wrong, so he has reported it to the authorities.
Nine days after receiving the crime report, on September 24th, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Ba Be District Police (Bac Kan) The authorities have clarified the situation and executed the order for temporary detention against Trinh Thi Tham.
