

Quy Hop district was established with a population of more than 23,000 people, from 10 communes of Quy Chau district (old) namely Chau Yen, Chau Son, Chau Ly, Chau Thai, Chau Quang, Chau Dinh, Chau Hong, Chau Loc, Chau Cuong, Chau Thanh and 3 communes of Nghia Dan district namely Nghia Son, Nghia Xuan and Tam Hop. On April 25, 1963, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee also decided to split Quy Chau district Party Committee into the following Party Committees: Quy Hop, Quy Chau and Que Phong.
Throughout the country's history, since the war against French colonialism and American imperialism, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Quy Hop district have always maintained revolutionary will and glorious traditions, participated in economic development; actively provided human and material resources to the southern front with the spirit of "all for the front, all to defeat the American invaders", "not a pound of rice is missing, not a soldier is missing", contributing with the army and people of the whole country to liberate the South and unify the country.

During the long and fierce resistance war, thousands of beloved children of Quy Hop devoted their lives and youth to the country. Up to now, the whole district has 642 martyrs; 2,432 wounded and sick soldiers; 12,312 families with meritorious services to the revolution; 25 heroic Vietnamese mothers and thousands of people who were frontline laborers, youth volunteers who directly fought and served in combat. After the South was completely liberated, the country was unified, and embarked on a new construction project, Quy Hop district suffered heavy consequences left by the war; besides, being bound by the centralized and subsidized management mechanism, it encountered many difficulties in development. However, with the spirit of solidarity, promoting revolutionary traditions, the Party Committee and people of Quy Hop district overcame those difficulties and challenges, proactively, creatively, and quickly integrated into the country's innovation.
After 60 years of construction and development, Quy Hop district has achieved many important achievements in many fields. Agricultural production continues to develop comprehensively, gradually going into depth; productivity, quality and value have increased. Hundreds of large-scale, highly efficient enterprises and cooperatives have been established in the district, creating jobs for many workers; notably the NASU Sugar Factory with a raw material area of over 5,000 hectares of sugarcane, MASAN Company Limited raising 10,000 sows and 230,000 pigs/year... Up to now, the district has built 14 OCOP products that meet the provincial 3-4 "star" standards. The National Target Program on new rural construction has received special attention from Party committees and authorities at all levels and has been actively responded to by the people. The district has 6 communes and 14 hamlets recognized by the province as meeting new rural standards.

The physical facilities and socio-economic infrastructure in the district have been gradually invested with nearly 100 irrigation works; 141/336km of concrete canals; 100% of hamlets and villages have electricity. The transportation system has been strongly developed, connecting with the districts of Quy Chau, Que Phong, Tan Ky, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, and will soon be connected with Anh Son. The inter-commune and inter-hamlet transportation system has been basically solidified, cars can reach all hamlets and villages. Telephone and Internet signals have reached 21 communes. The school system and medical stations have been gradually invested and upgraded to meet standards. The appearance of rural and urban areas has rapidly improved.
In the district, there are 314 enterprises; 80 mineral mines; 158 processing factories of all kinds; 1,200 transport vehicles and machinery of all kinds. The value of industrial production, small-scale industry and basic construction at current prices in 2022 reached 4,703 billion VND, accounting for 51% of the total production value. Trade and services have changed significantly, initially forming and developing a number of tourism services such as: Restaurants, hotels, entertainment areas, community tourism spots along with civil goods, agricultural services, finance, banking, transportation... With rapid development in economic fields, contributing to raising the total production value of the district to over 8,000 billion VND, ranking 9th in the province. The total annual State budget contribution reaches about 350 billion VND (excluding land auction money), ranking 5th in the province.

Culture and society have made much progress, infrastructure and cultural institutions have been invested in and built; the movement "All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas", cultural, physical education and sports activities have developed widely. Education and training have changed positively. National defense has been ensured, political security and social order and safety have been maintained. The material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved. The work of building the Party and the political system has achieved many important results in terms of politics, ideology, organization and cadres. The political system has been constantly improved and consolidated in all aspects. Up to now, the whole district has 54 party committees and branches under the District Party Committee with nearly 8,000 party members.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the district's founding, the Party Committee and people of Quy Hop were honored to receive the Second-class Labor Medal awarded by the President; at the same time, the district was also honored to be chosen by the Provincial People's Committee to organize the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day (April 19), Nghe An province in 2023. Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day is an occasion to honor cultural identity, national pride; educate the tradition of loving the homeland and country; enhance responsibility, create more resources to further promote the beauty of ethnic culture rich in identity...

The great achievements after 60 years of construction and development of Quy Hop district are the embodiment of the sacrifices in blood, sweat and tears of many previous generations; the solidarity, unity, self-reliance and self-improvement of the ethnic people; the result of innovation in leadership and direction methods of the Party organization and organizations in the district's political system; and the close attention of the Central Government and the province.
Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, Quy Hop district will continue to focus on exploiting its potential and advantages. Prioritize attracting investment in projects with modern technology and high added value; effectively use the concentration of resources to implement the set goals and tasks, creating momentum and spillover in economic growth. Strive to gradually turn Quy Hop district into a fruit tree center and a bright spot in building medicinal plant growing models in Nghe An province. Continue to develop trade service industries, including exporting mineral products to 14 countries. Expand the scale, attract businesses to invest in the area and continuously invest and build infrastructure, creating conditions for businesses to develop. Strive to achieve an average economic growth rate of 8.5%/year by 2025; average income per capita of over 70 million VND/year; Economic structure shifts towards "industry, construction, trade services, agriculture".

Along with solutions to accelerate economic growth, Quy Hop will promote the potential of culture, history, and landscapes to invest, develop services and types of tourism associated with preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in the area. Continue to innovate and comprehensively improve the quality of education; pay attention to building and consolidating the national standard school system; improve the quality of teaching and learning, especially in remote, isolated and extremely difficult communes. Strengthen the work of Party building and building the political system. Promote administrative reform along with planning, training, fostering and arranging qualified and capable cadres to meet increasingly high task requirements.
With new momentum, the Party Committee, government and people of the whole district are determined to join hands and unite to promote patriotic emulation movements, striving to build Quy Hop into one of the best districts in the Northwest region of Nghe An province in the coming time.
