Many achievements of Nghia Dan district on Phu Quy land to this day have the convergence of factors of “heavenly time, favorable terrain, and harmony of people”. In which, the typical cultural features become an important foundation.
Coming to Nghia Phu today, the residential routes that used to be old farm teams and teams have now been renovated, paved with asphalt and concrete from district and commune roads to each household's production garden. As a locality with 580 hectares of farm land, in addition to participating in the farm's production chain, Nghia Phu has also built its own tree and animal models such as: growing guava, sugarcane, melon, raising dairy cows, etc.
Nghia Phu is one of the pioneering communes in cooperating with TH Group to grow sugarcane with an area of over 560 hectares, bringing stable income to the people. Comrade Ho Huu Hoai - Chairman of Nghia Phu Commune People's Committee said: "Through projects and plans, Nghia Phu mobilizes resources to invest in socio-economic development, create jobs, increase income for people. At the same time, upgrade facilities, serve production, ensure conditions for people to settle down. In particular, along with exchanging and promoting indigenous cultural beauty, combining with regions, local people actively exchange experiences in shifting crop structure, introducing new varieties with productivity and quality, applying scientific and technical advances in production, improving the efficiency of agricultural land cultivation from citizens who are workers, children of farm workers moving back to live in the locality. Thereby strengthening community cohesion, contributing with local authorities to stabilize social security, build new rural areas, and improve new rural areas".
Nghia Dan district has 3 main ethnic groups living there, including Kinh, Thai, Tho. Nghia Dan people have long converged cultural characteristics. Those cultural values and qualities of "Nghia Dan people" have contributed significantly to the cause of building and developing Nghia Dan.
Mr. Le Huu Chi, Chairman of the Folk Song Club of Lac Hamlet, Nghia Lac Commune, added: Nghia Dan in general and Nghia Lac in particular still preserve many unique cultural features imbued with the traditions of the Vietnamese people such as: Gong Festival, Wrestling Festival, New Rice Offering Ceremony, New Year's Prayer, Going to the Field Ceremony associated with folk games such as: Carving the bed, jumping on bamboo poles, dancing with bamboo sticks, San Khan, Throwing Con... People in Nghia Dan always have the awareness to preserve and promote the national cultural identity. I myself am also an artist who plays trumpets, drums, gongs, and I always try to pass them on to the younger generations...
In particular, the Tho people have assimilated the quintessence of new culture into life, cultural traits considered cumbersome customs of the Tho people in mourning have also been eliminated, typically the custom of lying on the street in funerals. At the same time, overcoming limitations and inadequacies to promote strength in community life.
To preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups, Nghia Dan district currently has 40 commune-level gong clubs and 6 district-level gong clubs. The clubs are responsible for researching, collecting, propagating, educating about local and ethnic historical and cultural traditions, performing folk songs of the Tho and Thai ethnic groups to preserve and promote the good cultural values of ethnic groups; at the same time, creating a healthy and useful playground for the people, promoting the movement of folk songs and gong performances among the people, joining hands in building new rural areas, developing the economy - society associated with tourism.
On the way to building new rural areas, Nghia Dan district continues to develop agriculture with high-tech applications, creating many branded products that are trusted by the market. Up to now, Nghia Dan has 13 products recognized as OCOP at the provincial level, including 12 3-star products and 1 4-star product. With open and transparent investment attraction policies, Nghia Dan has become the destination of many large economic groups and enterprises such as: TH Group's concentrated dairy farming and industrial-scale milk processing project, MDF wood processing project, Tuynel bricks, superfine stone powder, clean vegetables, tubers, fruits...
The positive contributions of new projects have contributed to the acceleration and sustainable development of Nghia Dan district's socio-economic situation. Typically, in 2022, the socio-economic growth rate reached 14.81%; the average added value per capita reached 71.9 million VND/year; the annual poverty rate decreased by 2.08%. Up to now, Nghia Dan's infrastructure has been connected, the new rural construction has achieved many sustainable achievements, gradually improving the quality of life of people in all regions.
For many consecutive years, Nghia Dan district has achieved the title of an excellent unit in education with outstanding results and arts and sports have become widespread movements among all classes of people; social security has been taken care of and ensured... With the efforts and achievements in recent times, the cadres and people of Nghia Dan district have twice been honored to be awarded the First Class Labor Medal by the Party and State, the district Party Committee has achieved the title of strong for 10 consecutive years.
