As the "Voice of the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An", Nghe An Newspaper always identifies the propaganda work on Party building on publications (printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, social networking sites: YouTube, Facebook...) as the top and regular political task. Therefore, as soon as the Central Organizing Committee chaired and coordinated with Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine, Vietnam Television, and Vietnam Journalists Association to launch the National Press Award on Party building - Golden Hammer and Sickle, since 2016, the Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper has directed the Journalists Association to coordinate with specialized departments to implement quality works of many types to participate in the response. Right from the first time submitting a work to participate in the first National Press Award on Party building - Golden Hammer and Sickle, Nghe An Newspaper was honored to have a work that won the B prize, with the topic "Consolidating the political system in special regions".
By 2018, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee directed the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department to coordinate with the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association to organize the annual Nghe An Provincial Journalism Award on Party Building (Golden Hammer and Sickle). Since then, the Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper has sent experienced reporters to attend professional training courses on "Journalism on Party Building" organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association.

In particular, focusing on propagating and bringing the Resolution of the 4th Central Committee (term XII) at the provincial level, 21 districts, cities, towns and affiliated Party Committees; Strongly propagate the implementation of Directive 05. Reporters stick to the grassroots level, ensuring that Party Committees at all levels have in-depth articles reflecting the implementation of the review and identification activities in the spirit of Resolution 4 of the Central Committee, looking directly at shortcomings and shortcomings, creating changes at the grassroots level, strengthening the trust of cadres and Party members in the Party, in the purpose of building and rectifying the Party.

Specifically, on average, each year, Nghe An Newspaper has 15-30 entries to the Nghe An Province Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, many of which have won high prizes and have been selected by the Provincial Journalists Association to participate in the National Press Award on Party Building. Right from the first year Nghe An organized the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award (2018), Nghe An Newspaper had 6 entries to win the Nghe An Province Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, including 3 Third Prizes and 3 Encouragement Prizes. The Newspaper had 5 entries to participate in the National Press Award on Party Building, with 1 entry reaching the final round (topic "Promoting the role and responsibility of retired party members").
In 2019, Nghe An Newspaper won 9 Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Awards of Nghe An Province, including 3 Second Prizes, 4 Third Prizes and 2 Encouragement Prizes. Of which, 6 works were selected to compete in the National Press Award on Party Building, the topic of Responsibility of Party Committee Leaders in "Listening to People Speak, Speaking for People to Listen" entered the final round.
In 2020, Nghe An Newspaper won 12 Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Awards of Nghe An province, including 2 First prizes, 3 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 4 Encouragement prizes. Of which, 7 works were selected to participate in the National Press Award, the topic "Post-merger of communes and hamlets and issues raised" won the Encouragement prize.
In 2021, Nghe An Newspaper won 12 Golden Hammer and Sickle Press Awards in Nghe An province, including: 2 First prizes, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 4 Encouragement prizes. There were 15 works selected to compete in the National Press Award on Party building, the topic "A strong Party is due to good Party cells" won the C prize.
In 2022, Nghe An Newspaper won 10 Golden Hammer and Sickle journalism awards of Nghe An province, including 3 first prizes, 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, and 4 consolation prizes.
Recently, on the anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2023), at the 2022 National Golden Hammer and Sickle Award Ceremony, Nghe An Newspaper was honored to receive the "Excellent Collective" award for its outstanding achievements in organizing and participating in the response to the National Golden Hammer and Sickle Award; at the same time, the work: "Leaders contact and dialogue with the people: The key to creating consensus" won the Encouragement prize and the work "Developing female party members of ethnic minorities: Focusing on villages and hamlets" entered the final round.
It can be said that participating in the Nghe An Provincial Golden Hammer and Sickle Awards and the National Golden Hammer and Sickle Awards has created a competitive movement among reporters and specialized departments of Nghe An Newspaper; promoting the role and responsibility of Party journalists in the beloved homeland of Uncle Ho, in creating works about Party building. In order to have quality works to participate in the competitions, reporters have researched and explored new issues, issues that are of interest to society, created works that have strong influence and truly left an impression on readers, contributing to political and ideological orientation; as well as promptly summarizing and disseminating good experiences, good lessons, praising, honoring and spreading, replicating new factors and advanced models; strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, resolutely fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints... contributing to building "Our Party is ethical and civilized" as advised by beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
