Two years ago, Le Thi Hiem was the first female Dan Lai student from Muong Qua High School (Con Cuong) to be admitted to the Party. It was an event and a source of pride for the Dan Lai ethnic group in the Pu Mat forest of Mon Son commune.
Before becoming a young party member, Hiem had thought about dropping out of high school. At that time, like many other Dan Lai families in Khe Bung village, Hiem's family was poor, very poor. Hiem was the eldest child, with two younger siblings, so after finishing 10th grade, Hiem followed her friend to work for an electronics company in Bac Ninh to help her family. After working for two months, Hiem received a salary and she thought that she would have money to send home to help her parents raise her two younger siblings. Thinking and deciding, Hiem called home to ask her mother to drop out of school. But Hiem's mother did not agree and encouraged her daughter: "Try to study hard to get a high school diploma, then if you want to go to university or work, or work abroad, your parents will agree."

Listening to her mother, Hiem returned to Muong Qua High School and studied hard, hoping to set an example for her younger siblings at home. But like many other students in the remote village upstream of Khe Khang, Hiem's younger sister dropped out of school after finishing 9th grade, went to work as a factory worker, and got married before she was 18. Hiem's younger brother, due to poor health and poor academic performance, also dropped out of school before finishing middle school. Seeing his younger siblings with an uncertain future ahead, Hiem was even more determined to study. The road from her village to school was long, steep, and winding, so she had to stay in a dormitory. During the days preparing for the high school graduation exam, Hiem studied day and night. Sometimes, she finished her studies and slept through the night in class.
Not only studying hard, the Dan Lai girl also made her friends admire her when she was the only student in class 12D, Muong Qua High School to be "chosen" to attend the Party sympathy class. At the end of the school year, Hiem and 2 other students in the school were admitted to the Party after completing the high school program. Talking about her former student, teacher Nguyen Thi Hang - Hiem's homeroom teacher said: Hiem's house is more than 30 kilometers from school, making it very difficult to travel. To get to school, sometimes she had to walk for a whole day, life was very hard. For that reason, when I promoted the admission of the Party and the criteria for admission to the Party at the high school, I was really happy to see Hiem volunteering. Deep down, I knew she wanted to change herself to overcome the barriers of backward customs in the place where she lived. Therefore, I always encouraged her to make efforts and try to become a shining example for the younger generation of the village.

On the path to becoming an official Party member, Le Thi Hiem always had a person quietly standing behind, encouraging and supporting her, that was her mother, who was also a Party member of Khe Bung village. Hiem shared that: her mother did not study much, did not work at any level in the village. However, when the government promoted and encouraged her, she volunteered to join the Party because she wanted to set an example for her children and grandchildren and wanted to give herself the opportunity to "look far and wide". Therefore, later on, her mother always had a very progressive outlook and often gave her timely and useful advice.
After graduating from grade 12, Hiem did not have enough points to enter the Primary Education major as he dreamed, but only had enough points to enter the Social Work major at Vinh University. Hiem's mother encouraged him to temporarily stop studying at university to study for an additional year at Thanh Hoa Ethnic Preparatory School. Thanks to his diligence and perseverance, in the final exam, Hiem achieved 28 points in 3 subjects: Literature, History, Geography and was the only student of the course to be admitted to the Primary Education Department of Vinh University - the major with the highest standard score and competition rate in the school.

Le Thi Hiem is proud to be the first student from Khe Bung village to go to university and also the first student from the Dan Lai village deep in the Pu Mat forest to join the Party. The journey for an ethnic minority female student to study far from home is full of difficulties, but she is always aware that she is a young Party member. Therefore, despite many hardships, she dares to accept the challenge, is exemplary and enthusiastic in the movements of the class and the school. Hiem's dream now is to become a good teacher, return to Khe Bung village, to the Dan Lai people to bring letters and knowledge to the young generation of the village.

Before graduating and completing the program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (University of Commerce), Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh - a former student of Kim Lien High School (Nam Dan) had time to prepare for herself a luggage with many awards and titles. That is, the Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, achieving the title of "5 Good Students" at the city and school levels for many consecutive years. Ngoc Anh is also a member participating in the Southeast Asian Youth Festival and activities responding to the 31st SEA Games", is one of the 10 best students of the school to receive the Nitori scholarship from the Scholarship Program of the Nitori International Scholarship Fund. She also participates in many scientific research activities, has articles published in specialized magazines and was in the top 10 Finalists of the "Miss and Mister TMU Elegance 2020" contest.

Looking back at her four years as a student and comparing her years in high school, Ngoc Anh shared that she “didn’t think she would have made such great strides”. Before that, when she first entered university, Ngoc Anh was somewhat shy, but as a party member admitted in high school and the only party member in her major, Ngoc Anh soon gained the attention and trust of teachers and staff in her department. In her first year, she was elected as Secretary of the Youth Union, doing Party work at the department. This was also a favorable condition for her to be exposed to many activities, mature early and train her to be confident and dynamic…

At this time, Nguyen Ngoc Mai, a first-year student majoring in Vocational Studies at the People's Security Academy, is constantly striving to wait for the day she can officially become a Party member. Over the past year, this female student of Thai ethnicity has also experienced many very special emotions with many unforgettable memories. The first time was when she stood under the Party flag and read the oath at the Party admission ceremony with teachers and friends at Nghe An Ethnic Minority High School. The second time was when her name was announced at the ceremony to honor students with high results in the 2022 high school graduation exam, with 29 points in block C; Runner-up in the province.
Ngoc Mai is from Quang Phong commune, Que Phong mountainous district. Both parents are farmers, the family has 4 children, so Mai's family situation is very difficult. With the desire to escape poverty, Mai was aware from a very early age and determined to study really well to be able to go to high school, and further, to university. Thanks to her efforts, diligence and determination, Mai passed the entrance exam to Nghe An Province's No. 2 Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities with a fairly high score. She was also trusted by teachers and friends and elected as the deputy class monitor for 3 consecutive years. From being a class officer, actively participating in school movements, Mai soon realized the need to strive to join the Party. She was one of the students "chosen" to attend a Party sympathy training class and was admitted to the Party at the school in grade 12, after a period of tireless study and training. Besides, Mai also enjoyed double joy when right after that she passed the entrance exam to her dream school, the People's Security Academy.

The young Thai ethnic girl shared: “When I entered the People’s Security Academy, there were only 2 party members in my class, including me. Therefore, I became more aware of my responsibility as a young party member, always setting an example in studying, taking the lead in all activities and movements of the class…”. That was also a great motivation for Mai to confidently continue on her journey to becoming a people’s security soldier in the future.
