Nghe An women account for 49.14% of the labor force in society. The total number of members is nearly 477,000, from many backgrounds: farmers, workers, civil servants, public employees, laborers; officers and soldiers of armed forces units.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, President of the Provincial Women's Union said: Accounting for a large workforce, especially the awareness and will to rise up among women are increasingly affirmed in many areas of social life. This is an important resource, if we know how to gather and promote the spirit of dedication and creativity of women. From that awareness, on the basis of closely following the functions and tasks of the Union organization and implementing the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, Resolution of the 13th National Women's Congress, Resolution of the 16th Nghe An Provincial Women's Congress; The Executive Committee of the Provincial Women's Union has developed an action program, clearly identifying breakthroughs and key tasks and solutions, linking changes in thinking and working methods, properly implementing the motto "Where there are women, there are Union activities".
Caring for poor women and children is an important "pillar" in the work of the association. Depending on the reality, at each level of the association, practical jobs and models are selected, contributing to the common social security goals of the province. A popular model in localities is "turning waste into seeds, into useful work" through collecting scrap to raise funds to buy seeds, insurance cards, and savings books to support poor women and children. Actively connect and call for socialized resources to support the construction of "warm homes of love", especially connecting via fanpage, facebook, zalo, creating resources to support families with people suffering from serious illnesses or unexpected accidents. Many models have been launched among association officials and members to have more resources for disadvantaged women and children, such as the "15+1" model - 5 members help 1 member in difficult circumstances to escape poverty; "Practice saving"; "Mutual love"; "Savings tube"; “Rice savings jar”… The program “Accompanying women in the border areas” has received positive and practical responses from all levels of the association, such as supporting daily necessities and livestock for women in border communes…

In addition, each unit also has creative and good ways of doing things: Thanh Chuong District Women's Union organizes "O Dong stall" to mobilize items from people who have but do not use, to bring to those in need; Quynh Luu women maintain the weekly "Bowl of love porridge" program; women of the Provincial Police and the districts of Quynh Luu, Nghi Loc, Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Nghia Dan, Nam Dan, Quy Hop... implement the model of "Godmother", "Taking on foster children" to support orphans and children in difficult circumstances to go to school.

Another "pillar" that all levels of the association are concerned about, innovated and actively implemented is supporting women to be creative in starting a business and developing the economy. In Quynh Luu district, according to Ms. Tran Thi Ha - Chairwoman of the District Women's Union, the activities of accompanying and supporting women in economic development are through the establishment of savings groups and teams; building the model of "Executive Committee + 1" from the district to the grassroots level, meaning that the monthly allowance of the Executive Committee is given to members to borrow without interest to develop the economy. The Association presides over and supports the establishment of 13 production cooperatives, connecting and consuming safe agricultural products; standing up to guarantee banks and TYM Fund, supporting women to borrow capital with a total outstanding debt of more than 270 billion VND with more than 10,000 members and women borrowing. Regarding start-up activities, from 2020 to now, the district association has supported 80 start-up ideas to be realized; Support the establishment of 3 new cooperatives and 1 women's business club.

The core task of Thanh Chuong Women's Union is to support members and women in developing commercial livestock, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty. Accordingly, in addition to propaganda, mobilization, and equipping members and women with livestock knowledge; The district association directly directed the construction of 9 models of free-range chicken farming with 500 or more chickens, bringing the total number of chicken farming models deployed by the association to 141 models to date, contributing to spreading the collective brand "Thanh Chuong Chicken". The association also supported the implementation of a model for women to start a business raising beef cattle with 5 or more cows at association bases with a total of 161 models. In addition, the association at all levels also mobilized from many resources, giving breeding animals to members and poor and disadvantaged women to develop the economy. In 2021 alone, the district association has awarded 69 breeding pigs; 1 cow; 6 goats; 11,500 chickens.
In the whole province, activities to support women in starting a business, building collective economic models, accumulated by the end of 2021, the whole province has supported the building of 97 collective economic models, including 15 cooperatives and 82 cooperative groups led by women. The associations at all levels have also actively implemented the project "Supporting women in starting a business". The results of 2021 have mobilized and supported 715 ideas to participate in the Women's Entrepreneurship Competitions at the central and provincial levels; of which 478 ideas have been supported to be realized. Vocational training, coordination, introduction of vocational training and job counseling and introduction have been well done by the Associations at all levels and vocational training institutions of the Association. From the above support activities, in 2021, the whole province had 11,684 poor households led by women being supported by the association, of which 663 households escaped poverty.

Activities of the association at all levels also choose content that is “suitable” for participating in the construction of new rural areas. The focus is on propaganda, changing awareness and behavior, maintaining environmental hygiene through the movements “5 no, 3 clean”, “Safe community”, “Clean adjacent households, beautiful gardens”, “5 no, 3 clean branches”; “Clean house, clean kitchen, clean environment”, “Waste classification at source”, “Women self-manage green, clean, beautiful rural roads”, “flower and tree roads”…

Some localities have proactively coordinated with schools to launch the program "Road to School without Garbage" by placing trash bins made from recycled products on the way to school, preventing plastic waste, limiting the use of nylon bags... In 2021, implementing Directive 45/TTg dated December 31, 2020 of the Prime Minister, the Association at all levels implemented the targets "One tree for each woman", "One tree project for each Association facility"; up to now, the whole province has had 1,561 tree projects with 20,650 trees of all kinds and also spreading the tree planting movement in the households of officials and members...
In parallel with the above "pillars", the activities of building a strong Women's Union organization; enhancing the role of Women's Union organizations in participating in Party building and government building; improving the quality of female cadre work and implementing gender equality goals; participating in solving social issues related to women and children... are also of interest to Women's Unions at all levels from the provincial to the grassroots level. Regarding the work of developing Party members, in 2021 alone, the Union trained and introduced 1,048 outstanding members for the Party to train and admitted 475 Party members. Also in 2021, the Unions at all levels supervised and commented on 95 policies and 569 draft documents issued by Party committees and authorities at all levels.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, President of the Provincial Women's Union affirmed: The unions at all levels are continuing to implement and bring the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the Women's Congress at all levels into life with key contents and activities: supporting women in economic development, starting businesses, and starting successful businesses; promoting the application of information technology in union activities; organizing activities to support the building of strong branches and women's groups. In order to effectively implement the above contents, the Provincial Women's Union is also requiring all levels of the Union, cadres and members to raise their sense of responsibility to quickly bring the Resolution "deeply rooted" into life, contributing together with the Party Committee and the people of the province to bring Nghe An to develop rapidly and sustainably, becoming a fairly well-off province in the Northern region.
