North Central Coast Sea and Island Tourism Seminar

The workshop took place yesterday (June 2, 2009) in Cua Lo Town, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Provincial People's Committee.

Representatives of the General Department of Tourism, Provincial People's Committee, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourism businesses, academic researchers and tourism experts from the Northeast region of Thailand attended the workshop.

The workshop gathered 18 presentations from departments, institutes of the tourism sector and universities, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the North Central provinces. Based on Resolution 4 of the 10th Central Committee on marine strategy, the presentations and discussions highlighted the potential, discussed issues on planning, product building, branding... to develop sea and island tourism in the North Central region.

For Nghe An, the workshop has practical significance in helping the province gain more information, scientific arguments and valuable experiences to better implement Resolution 16 of the Provincial Party Committee to promote the development of sea and island tourism to become the main economic sector of the sea and coastal economy; diversify forms of domestic and foreign cooperation to develop sea and island tourism.
