The street painting Cuon Chieu records historical periods, spanning seven dynasties: Ly, Tran, Ho, Minh, Hau Le, Tay Son, Nguyen in Hue Festival 2010. It is the largest painting aiming at 1,000 years of Thang Long - Hanoi.

The 60-meter long, 3.5-meter wide painting was created by artists from the Thua Thien Hue Young Artists Club and 15 artists from the North, Central and South regions, and more than 100 students from Hue University of Fine Arts.

The historical painting has a record length.

Mr. Tran Huu Nhan, the main artist of this painting, said that the reason he chose the "Rolled Royal Decree" form to tell the story of Vietnamese history is because this is a form of expression that is both solemn and suitable for Vietnamese society, customs and practices.

According to Mr. Nhan, linking Thang Long to the ancient capital is also a way for artists like him to record the unique cultural features of the country from the period of opening up the country to the prosperous period. In each section of the painting, the authors create a highlight, a unique feature such as: Ly Dynasty with the symbol of the dragon, the One Pillar Pagoda; Tran Dynasty with the development of literature and the development of Buddhism; Tay Son Dynasty with elephants, uprisings... and finally a picture of peaceful nature.
