Vietnam highly appreciated at cultural week in Malaysia

Within the framework of the “International Week and Film Festival 2011” from March 21-25, organized by the University of Malaysia in collaboration with embassies of countries whose languages ​​are taught at the school, Vietnam brought Malaysian students new discoveries about culture, people, customs, as well as development in the integration period.

Participating in this week are 8 booths displaying handicraft products, traditional costumes, paintings, research books, literature... from 10 countries including Japan, Germany, Russia, France, Portugal, Myanmar, Korea, Italy, Thailand and Vietnam, in which Vietnam has its own and quite impressive booth.

On the opening day, Vietnam's booth attracted much attention from viewers thanks to the diversity and uniqueness of the exhibits.

Coming to the Vietnam corner, viewers can immediately be impressed by the picture of President Ho Chi Minh placed solemnly on a high platform and below are more than a dozen books written about him.

In addition, there are nearly 50 books introducing history, customs, scenic spots and Vietnamese cuisine. Handicraft products such as wooden sculptures, gifts, silk paintings... are very popular with students.

At the Vietnam exhibition booth, visitors can watch films introducing Vietnam in general and regions in particular such as Ha Long, Da Nang, Central Highlands...

During this week, visitors to the Vietnam pavilion will also be given a postcard of Ha Long Bay with a call to vote for the bay as one of the new seven natural wonders of the world.

Especially in this cultural festival, the Vietnamese film "Buffalo Wool Season" was chosen by the organizers to be screened in the opening ceremony, as a high appreciation of the humanity and Vietnamese culture expressed in the film.
