In the Spring atmosphere still mixed in every house, alley, we went up to Thai Hoa with many surging emotions. It was not the first time coming here but each trip brought us different feelings. There was something stirring, nostalgic as if bringing our hearts back to the spiritual world, bringing our souls back to the sacred source when burning incense at Lang Vac Temple, Nghia Hoa commune.

Convergence of traditional culture

Since the beginning of time, humans have been present on this Thai Hoa land. However, in 1972, while digging the ground to build Dai Van dam, people discovered that this was the land where ancient Vietnamese people lived.

Every early spring, in Vac village, Nghia Hoa commune, the festival takes place with traditional cultural and sports activities. Coming to Vac village festival, we seem to be lost in an ancient fairyland with the thousand-year-old cultural traditions of our ancestors. Although life goes back and forth, the children of this land always remember the Vac village festival to join the crowd carrying the bronze cauldron - an artifact that proves the ancient culture from the excavation site to the Temple area, listening to folk songs imbued with national cultural identity, bringing us back to the culture of our roots, imbued with love for our homeland and country.

Speaking of the unique features of Vac Village Festival, we cannot help but mention the gong dance, the typical dance of the Thai and Tho ethnic groups, the majority ethnic groups currently living together in solidarity on the land of Phu Quy. Vac Village Festival is an opportunity for us to understand more, to contemplate the historical source and to love more the traditions of our homeland and ancestral land.

In recent years, Thai Hoa has made great strides in politics, economy, culture - society, and national defense and security. Urban beautification has created a new look, and people's lives have been increasingly improved. The project "Building a civilized urban lifestyle" in the area is contributing to making Thai Hoa worthy of its potential and strengths.

Since its establishment (2008), Thai Hoa has continuously strived to achieve many achievements in all aspects. Continuous growth, attracting investment, promoting economic and social development. People's lives are increasingly improved, the movement "All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas" is promoted.

The movement of the whole people to prevent crime, maintain social order and safety, and contribute to building a civilized urban lifestyle is always considered important. To raise awareness of building a civilized lifestyle worthy of the Town, creating a foundation for sustainable development, the Project "Building a civilized urban lifestyle" will be widely implemented. Up to now, the number of Cultural Villages in the town is: 59/122 villages (reaching 48.4%), 25 Cultural Units; Advanced residential areas have: 105/122 blocks, hamlets (reaching 86.1%). Cultural families 13,816/16,211 households (reaching 85.23%). The work of directing and implementing to improve the quality of the movement "TDĐKXDĐSVH" is regularly focused on through the development of specific action plans for the year and organizing direction and urging blocks, hamlets to carry out the movement well.

According to the implementation plan, the Steering Committee of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" of agencies, units, schools and communes and wards is responsible for organizing the implementation of the Project in each agency and unit, focusing on implementing the Convention on civilized urban lifestyle. 2011 is the year the whole Town is determined to implement civilized urban lifestyle, creating changes in behavior among all classes of people and officials. The Steering Committee organizes the signing of commitments to implement the convention to each household to ensure the Project is effectively implemented.

In the past time, Thai Hoa has directed functional sectors to implement many measures to strengthen urban management. Handling the situation of encroachment on roads and sidewalks for business purposes, speeding and reckless driving, writing and pasting advertisements on the walls of public works, damaging green parks. Building a civilized urban lifestyle according to the standards and values ​​of national culture. Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups, meeting the requirements of organizing a good life for the community in the urban living environment. Building infrastructure and urban embellishment is one of the requirements and also the basic conditions to create an increasingly developed appearance of the town.

The implementation of the 2010 plan to name streets and roads has completed step 1 of the first phase of the plan to name streets and roads: The Advisory Council agreed to include 70 famous people in the 70 names of streets and roads of the Town. Building a civilized urban lifestyle is of great significance in developing the city in a sustainable direction. People need to raise awareness of building a civilized lifestyle to keep up with the general development of the town.

Sharing about the implementation of the urban civilization project, Mr. To Thanh Son - Head of the Town's Department of Culture and Information affirmed: "To implement this project, the Steering Committee of the movement "All people unite to live the cultural life of the town has developed a specific plan. The project will last for many years to create a gradual change in the lifestyle and working methods of the people". The project "Building a civilized urban lifestyle will truly enter the lives of the people to contribute to making Thai Hoa Town an economic and cultural center of the Western region of Nghe An.

Saying goodbye to Thai Hoa, the cheerful sounds of gongs and the melodies of my homeland still permeate my heart when I return to the lowlands. Amidst the ups and downs of history, Thai Hoa still retains its own unique cultural features and they still exist, still preserved and beautified by the people here to suit the general development of society.
