Will give up psychic ability to find martyrs because of being exploited

The draft "Project to identify remains of martyrs with missing information", being developed by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, mentions extrasensory perception (along with DNA identification) to find remains. Mr. Bui Hong Linh - Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs discussed this issue.

Very few people have special abilities.

Mr. Linh said that in reality, only a few people have the special ability to find martyrs’ graves, but the story of psychics searching for martyrs’ remains is emerging everywhere. If we do not promptly correct this phenomenon, it will be very dangerous, because at that time, “virtual” martyrs will fill the gap of real martyrs, seriously affecting the work of excavating and gathering martyrs’ graves.

I am also the child of a martyr, so I understand the pain of the martyrs' families. However, I hope that the families will remain calm and cooperate with the military and local authorities to search for the remains of their children using scientific methods and with a realistic basis.

But in the "Project to identify remains of martyrs with missing information" that the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs is building, the measure of finding remains by psychic means is also included, sir?

Currently, the Ministry has only organized workshops to collect opinions, from which to build a complete project to submit to the Prime Minister by the end of this year. However, through many workshops, scientists believe that extrasensory perception should not be included in the Project. Personally, I also agree with this point of view, because if included, it will cause many people to misunderstand, making the situation more complicated.

The identification of remains with missing information must rely on the scientific method of DNA identification. In fact, DNA identification gives very accurate results, so this will be the main method of the project. DNA identification must go through centers of the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Science and Technology and centers coordinated by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Wrong psychic finding, people should sue

Mr. Bui Hong Linh.

What do you think when in some localities such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh... there are many psychics emerging who claim to have the ability to find martyrs' graves?

It is true that recently, in these two localities, people have been racing to find martyrs’ remains using psychic powers, which is very chaotic. There are cases where people’s children who died in the South were brought to Quang Tri to find them; those who died in the Southwest were brought to Quang Binh to find them. This is taking advantage of the martyrs’ families to do illegal business.

In fact, there are very few people in Vietnam who can use psychic powers to find graves. In the world, it is also very rare, so the appearance of a series of individuals and organizations using psychic powers to find graves in many localities is an unusual phenomenon. Moreover, this will disrupt the program of searching for and retrieving martyrs' remains that the State is implementing.

According to you, how should we handle cases of taking advantage of psychic powers to find graves but incorrectly?

Any psychic who tells a family to pick up the wrong grave should sue them for protection. Because the graves of the dead cannot be violated by others in such a brazen manner as they are now. Even the emergence of psychics in Nghe An and Ha Tinh, I think that is also an illegal form of business. They say they do not charge money, but in reality, those who come here have to pay 150,000 VND to rent mats and put money in donation boxes.

Obviously, this is a dishonest and incorrect phenomenon. If this phenomenon continues, the consequences for the families of martyrs will be that even if they find remains, they still cannot rest assured because they do not know whether the remains are their relatives or not.

Applying spiritual methods but without relics is definitely not allowed in the cemetery. Recently, in a province, because a psychic found remains but there were no relics to prove the martyrs, they were not allowed to bring them in. They took 12 handfuls of soil, and then said that those were 12 martyrs, so they could not be brought into the cemetery.

I think that bringing remains to the cemetery must be carried out by military units or local authorities and must meet conditions such as: having historical relics; having historical conditions to provide information about the remains; having relics; having remains...

Thank you.

Psychics must be selective.

Talking to Tien Phong, researcher Nguyen Phuc Giac Hai (Center for Human Potential Research) said: In 2000, a state program on research and assessment of the ability to find graves using psychic powers, with the participation of two independent research groups: the Applied Information Technology Science Union and the Center for Human Potential Research.
Finding martyrs' graves by psychic means is a necessary supplementary method for the Project to identify martyrs' graves with missing information, aiming to return names to the remains of hundreds of thousands of unknown martyrs.
However, we must have a test and screening process for psychics when they join the Project, not just anyone. We must check if that person has energy, use another psychic to check him, that is, we must examine each other; and then when we experiment, see if he can do it.
It must be seen that a psychic must first confirm his ability, then his ethics. Some people do it for nothing, but for conscience, but you do it only for money, that is not acceptable.
