Our country's socio-economic development strategy from now to 2020 includes the following contents:

The 11th Party Congress determined that our country's socio-economic development strategy from now until 2020 has the following 5 main contents:

+ Rapid development associated with sustainable development is a consistent requirement of the strategy: this requirement requires sustainable economic development, maintaining macroeconomic stability, ensuring economic security; promoting structural transformation, transforming the growth model, considering quality, productivity, efficiency and competitiveness as top priorities...; economic growth must harmoniously combine cultural development, social progress and equity; socio-economic development goes hand in hand with environmental protection and improvement, proactively responding to climate change.

At the same time, we must pay special attention to maintaining socio-political stability, strengthening national defense and security capacity, and firmly protecting independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

+ Synchronous and appropriate economic and political innovation for the goal of building our country into a rich people, strong country, fair and civilized society; persistently and resolutely implementing innovation; political innovation must be synchronous with economic innovation according to an appropriate roadmap, focusing on perfecting the socialist-oriented market economic institution; innovating the Party's leadership method, building a socialist rule-of-law state, expanding democracy within the Party and in society, closely linked with strengthening discipline to promote comprehensive innovation. Taking the implementation of the goal of a rich people, strong country, fair, democratic and civilized society as the highest standard to evaluate the effectiveness of the innovation and development process.

+ Expand democracy, maximize the human factor; consider people as the subject, the main resource and the goal of development: improve capacity and create mechanisms for people to fully exercise their mastery; promote the advantages of Vietnam's population and people, improve the quality of human resources, make good use of talents, care for legitimate interests and improve the quality of life for the people.

+ Strongly develop productive forces with increasingly high levels of science and technology; perfect production relations in a socialist-oriented market economy: rapidly and harmoniously develop economic sectors and types of enterprises; strengthen the potential and efficiency of the state economy; perfect policy mechanisms to strongly develop the private economy; create an equal and transparent competitive environment; continue to perfect management and distribution mechanisms.

+ Building an increasingly independent and self-reliant economy in the context of increasingly deep international integration: promoting internal strength and national power is the decisive factor, taking advantage of external strength and the power of the times; developing domestic enterprises with many strong brands, highly competitive to dominate the domestic market, expand foreign markets, ensuring the independence and self-reliance of the economy; international integration must always proactively adapt to changes in the situation, ensuring efficiency and national interests.
