LTS:Along with the increase in pages, starting from October 2011, Nghe An Daily Newspaper also opened a number of new sections to meet the information needs of all classes of people. Starting from today (October 6), on page 2 every Thursday, Nghe An Newspaper will open the following sections:"Accompanying farmers",Contribute to providing useful and practical information to people, contributing to improving production efficiency of the agricultural sector.

(Baonghean) -To rapidly increase the number of poultry flocks, it requires farmers, in addition to knowledge about breed selection, scientific and technical knowledge, disease prevention methods,... we recommend farmers some experiences to increase the hatching rate of poultry eggs.

Egg selection: Choose eggs with good quality eggshells, thick, hard, smooth, evenly colored and shiny, remove thin, cracked, rough eggshells, eggs laid for too long should not be put into the chickens to incubate because if incubated, the hatching rate will be low. Choose large eggs, depending on the breed, purpose of use and age of the poultry. At the same time, choose clean eggs, remove dirty eggs with feces, blood or broken eggs because this is a good environment for bacteria, pathogens to grow and most of the surface of the eggshell is covered with dirt, so the metabolism of the embryo will be affected. On the other hand, in a laying cycle of about 15 - 20 eggs/chicken depending on the breed of chicken, when choosing eggs to incubate, you should choose the 6th eggs or later in the laying cycle to have a high hatching rate, combined with good egg preservation before incubation (preserving eggs in trays or baskets lined with rice husks or kitchen ash in a cool place)

Choosing brooding chickens: We mainly raise poultry in a small, fragmented, self-sufficient way, often letting chickens hatch naturally, manually, rarely using industrial incubation methods. Therefore, when letting chickens hatch manually, there should be techniques for choosing chickens for incubation, choosing good brooders, short legs, large frame, wide wings, many wing feathers, when hatching, having a lot of egg cover will give a high hatching rate.

When letting chickens incubate, you should pay attention to the weather: If the weather is too hot and stuffy, you should not let chickens incubate because it will give a low hatching rate. It is best to choose cool weather like Autumn and Spring.

During the incubation process, chickens often have skin parasites such as mites and lice. We use some experience to minimize skin parasites. Use neem leaves + camphor pellets to line the nest for the chickens to incubate.

Use Dipterex spray on the incubator.

In addition, in poultry farming, it is advisable to arrange a sand pit + sulfur powder and a little ash (if available) mixed together to let poultry bathe in sand to limit skin parasites such as chicken pox. There should be plates of crushed sand and gravel as small as rice grains, arranged in the coop for chickens to eat to help the poultry's digestion process.
