(Baonghean) -These days, millions of Vietnamese people living in the country and abroad are turning their hearts to the vote for Ha Long Bay to be honored by the world as one of the seven new natural wonders of the world, launched by the New Open World organization.
Over the past time, Ha Long Bay of Vietnam has been continuously at the top of the list of candidates, and has now entered the final round (out of 28 places). The voting program will end on November 11, 2011.

For the first time on December 17, 1994, the World Heritage Committee ranked Ha Long Bay as a new World Natural Heritage because of its "outstanding universal aesthetic value" according to the standards of the International Convention for the Protection of Natural and Cultural Heritage.
For the second time on December 2, 2000, the World Heritage Council continued to recognize Ha Long Bay as a new World Natural Heritage with geological and geomorphological values originating from the scientific report of Professor Tony Waltham - a geologist at Trent University Nottingham, USA, which affirmed: "Ha Long Bay is an outstanding example representing stages of the Earth's history, including evidence of life, significant geological developments taking place during the evolution of geological formations or geological and geomorphological features".
The New Open World Organizing Committee also nominated Ha Long Bay to the list of new natural wonders of the world. Currently, the vote is entering the final stage. Ha Long Bay has entered the final round of the vote and has many opportunities to win 1 of the 7 New Natural Wonders titles. This will be a good opportunity for Vietnam not only to make Ha Long Bay one of the 7 natural wonders of the world but also to promote the image of the country to international friends in the most effective way, further promoting the promotion of tourism and investment potential, raising awareness of protecting and promoting the values of this extremely valuable heritage.
