(Baonghean) - On the afternoon of January 12th, Vinh City held a press conference to announce the results of the city's political tasks in 2011, and to hear feedback from leaders and reporters from various newspapers on the city's leadership and management.

Attending the press conference were representatives from the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; the Department of Information and Communications; the Provincial Journalists Association; and leaders and reporters from central and local press agencies.

In 2011, despite the general difficulties facing the country and the province, the city, with its determined and decisive leadership and management, successfully completed its tasks. Economic growth reached 15.7%. The economic structure shifted in the right direction. Vinh City also effectively directed the implementation of political tasks and harmoniously resolved emerging social issues such as waste management, environmental sanitation, and private tutoring. However, alongside these achievements, the city frankly acknowledged some shortcomings and limitations that need further correction and improvement. Issues in urban order management, environmental management, land clearance, private tutoring, and illegal lending still persist, causing public concern.

At the press conference, leaders and reporters from various media outlets shared their joy at the achievements Vinh City had made in the past year; they also expressed their confidence that in 2012, the city would focus on further improving the issues at hand, continuing to restore order in urban management, land clearance, environmental management, and ensuring that Vinh City truly becomes a civilized city worthy of its status as a Class I urban center.

Speaking at the press conference, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Sinh – Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee – stated that, in addition to encouraging and acknowledging the positive aspects, the city's leaders also hope to receive frank and responsible contributions from leaders and reporters of central and local media agencies so that Vinh City can develop more strongly and comprehensively in 2012.
