(Baonghean) –On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea (October 23, 1961 - October 23, 2011), the Navy in collaboration with the Vietnam Military History Institute organized a scientific seminar: "Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea - the path of Vietnamese will and creativity".

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, the strategic military supply line at sea named after President Ho Chi Minh was truly a legend of our nation. Together with the Truong Son strategic transport route - the Ho Chi Minh sea route connected the great rear area of the North with the great front line of the South; promptly and effectively transported weapons and forces to battlefield areas that the Ho Chi Minh land transport route had not yet reached; directly contributed greatly to the army and people of the South in successfully implementing Uncle Ho's teaching "fight to make the Americans leave, fight to make the puppets fall", the culmination of which was the Great Victory of Spring 1975, liberating the South and reunifying the country.

Over the past 50 years, since the Ho Chi Minh Sea Trail was born and has been constantly developed in association with the cause of national liberation and protection of the Fatherland, the memories of the arduous, fierce months, the intellectual and life-and-death struggles with the enemy on each ship, each person, each trip... are still deeply engraved in our hearts, helping us to perceive more clearly, more fully, more deeply the historical mission and great stature of the strategic military transport route for the outcome of the resistance war against the US, to save the country. And above all, the perception of military transport by sea in the current and future sea and island strategy of the country.
