(Baonghean) -Taking advantage of the limited knowledge of ethnic people in the settlement area of Ngoc Lam commune, Thanh Chuong, Tran Dang Binh made promises about a stable job and high income, so many unemployed young people with limited qualifications were willing to follow Binh to find an opportunity to escape poverty.

And when they started working 12 to 14 hours a day, receiving low wages and being "confined" by labor facilities in China, those young men realized that they were victims of human trafficking. On November 11, 2011, after struggling to return home from Guangzhou province, China, Ms. Luong Thi G (in Ngoc Lam commune, Thanh Chuong) wrote a complaint about human trafficking by a subject named Binh. After that, the Thanh Chuong District Police Department continuously received many complaints from other young men in Ngoc Lam commune with similar content.

In the complaint sent to the police, the victims said they were tricked into being sold to China in mid-July 2011. It is worth mentioning that the victims' families did not report to the police or local authorities when their children were absent from home for a long time, allowing the subject to continue to successfully carry out the "transactions" of human trafficking for money. Considering the seriousness and complexity of this case, on November 25, 2011, the leaders of Thanh Chuong District Police established a special project coded 12/11BN.

While investigating the case, the District Police received information from Ms. G that on December 4, 2011, a subject named Binh called to contact her and asked her to find a few more people to send to China to work. Binh arranged to meet her in Vinh City to discuss "business". Thanks to this information, the Task Force made a plan to capture the subject. As promised by phone, at 2:00 p.m. on December 5, 2011, Ms. G and another woman appeared in Vinh City to meet Binh. However, in order to avoid detection by the police, the subject continuously changed the meeting place, and the assigned detectives were deployed to monitor and patiently wait for the "prey" to appear. About 2 hours later, at a restaurant in Truong Thi ward, Vinh city, Binh appeared, just in time to talk to Ms. G for a few minutes, then criminal detectives rushed in, urgently arrested Binh for "human trafficking" and escorted him to Thanh Chuong district police station.

Subject: Tran Dang Binh

At the district police station, the suspect declared his name as Tran Dang Binh, born in 1967, residing in hamlet 8, Trung Son commune, Do Luong, Nghe An. In early October 2010, Tran Dang Binh bid for the construction of the border with Laos in Ngoc Lam commune, Thanh Chuong. While working here, Binh got to know a few young men in the village. Being middle-aged and good at speaking, Binh gradually made friends with many other young men. Binh went to each house to persuade and convince that he would find jobs in China with a stable income for those in need. Binh promised not to collect any money for jobs, which made the villagers trust him more. In July 2011, Binh convinced 5 young men and women in Ngoc Lam commune to go "work" in China. On July 11, 2011, Binh took the 5 young men to Vinh City and rested for a day. At 9:00 p.m. on July 12, 2011, Binh took a bus to Nuoc Ngam bus station (Hanoi). Upon arriving in Hanoi, Binh rented a motel for the 5 young men to stay for one night. On the evening of July 14, 2011, Binh rented a bus to take the young men to Mong Cai border gate, Quang Ninh. From here, the group rented a motorboat to cross the river to Guangzhou province, China.

Upon arriving in China, this group of people were arranged to work at a fine art wooden furniture company. One of the women was sold by Binh to a young Chinese man to be his wife and to exploit his labor. In this "business deal", Binh must have been paid a large sum of money by the employers and brokers. After 3 months of hard labor, thanks to the help of Vietnamese people in China, the 5 young men gradually found their way back to their hometown and denounced all of Binh's actions. This is a lesson about the gullibility of the local people. Currently, Thanh Chuong District Police are continuing to fight and expand the investigation.
