Prosecuted two female criminals for swindling hundreds of billions of dong

In 2009, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy established Thuy Chung Company Limited to operate in the stationery business. After 7 changes in business registration, Thuy changed the company name to Kim Lien Investment, Trade and Tourism Joint Stock Company with a charter capital of 180 billion VND (however, that is only virtual capital).

The Provincial People's Committee has authorized the negotiation of the transfer of the project of the Economic, Commercial, Tourism, Sports Hotel, Apartment and Luxury Villa Complex in Cua Lo Town to Hong Thai Company Limited (Hong Thai SIT). Due to insufficient financial capacity, the Provincial People's Committee has decided to terminate the investment research of this Company for the Hong Thai SIT project.

However, Thuy took advantage of this license to mobilize capital from a number of individuals in Vinh city and Do Luong district in the form of paying high interest rates or exchanging villas in the project after completion. With this trick, Thuy defrauded and appropriated tens of billions of dong from the victims.

When the debt payment deadline came but they were unable to pay, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy and Ho Thi Nang fled the area. On February 18, the provincial police arrested Thuy while she was hiding in Bac Giang.
