(Baonghean.vn) - The Investigation Police Agency for Economic and Positional Crimes - Nghe An Provincial Police said that the People's Procuracy of Nghe An Province has approved the decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and issue a 4-month temporary detention order for Bui Xuan Lam for fraud and property appropriation.

Bui Xuan Lam (born in 1978, residing in Tuong Son commune, Anh Son district, former Deputy Director of Nghe An province Cultural Center received money and promised to find jobs for some acquaintances and run projects for businesses. From 2006 to present, Lam has received from each victim and business from 50-600 million VND.

After receiving the documents and money, Lam could not find a job, so he was denounced and asked for debt by the people. Lam wrote a letter of request for medical leave. Knowing that he could not avoid the authorities, on the afternoon of February 10, Bui Xuan Lam went to the provincial police station to confess. The provincial information center has decided to suspend Bui Xuan Lam from his position as Deputy Director.

At the investigation agency, Bui Xuan Lam admitted to his acts of fraud and property appropriation. As of noon on February 15, there had been over 80 complaints accusing Lam of fraud with a total amount of over 6 billion VND.
