Cuong Temple Festival 2012

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 7, in Dien An commune, Dien Chau district, the opening ceremony of the 2012 Cuong Temple Festival was held. Attending the festival were representatives of provincial departments, agencies, and more than 10 districts, cities, and towns. In particular, there was the presence of leaders of departments, agencies of Dong Anh district, Co Loa commune - Hanoi city and a large number of people in the area.

The opening ceremony started at 6am with the procession of General Cao Lo from Dien Tho to Xuan Ai Communal House; the procession of King Thuc's palanquin and the gods of Xuan Ai Communal House to Cuong Temple; before the opening day (March 6), Dien Chau district held ceremonies such as: Khai Quang ceremony, Trung Thien proclamation ceremony, Yet Cao ceremony, and the procession of King An Duong Vuong and Princess My Chau.

This is an occasion for Nghe An people and tourists from all over to burn incense to express gratitude to the kings who built and defended the country.

After the solemn and respectful ceremony, there are cultural and sports activities imbued with national identity such as cockfighting, swing, tug of war, singing and dancing of ca tru melodies, poetry, folk songs... continuously from 8am to 11pm on the 15th day of the second lunar month. This year's Cuong Temple Festival attracts a large number of people from Dien Chau district and visitors from all over to offer incense, flowers, meet and exchange, wish each other good health, pray for favorable weather, good crops, calm seas, and full holds of fish and shrimp.
