This is the first time the Nghe An folk song, vi, and dam festival has been jointly organized by Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces to continue preserving and promoting the inherent values of the folk songs, vi, and dam performances of Nghe An; aiming to prepare a dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The festival will be held at three levels: the district, city, and town level will take place from April 19th to May 10th; the cluster level will be held from May 24th to June 6th; and the provincial level will be held from June 16th to June 18th. The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on VTV, VTC, NTV, Ha Tinh Television and some other localities starting at 8 PM on June 16th, at Ho Chi Minh Square.

At the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong assigned specific tasks to each member of the Organizing Committee, requesting that members demonstrate a sense of responsibility in carrying out their duties to ensure the festival's success and create a positive impression on guests and people nationwide and abroad. This would help ensure that the folk songs, "ví," and "dặm" of Nghe An province are soon recognized by UNESCO as a world intangible cultural heritage.
