Ancient Vietnamese Cheo playMale"Quan Am Thi Kinh" performed by artists of the Vietnamese Cheo TheaterMaleperformed, just premiered in Paris, France.
This is the first time a troupe of 12 Cheo artists led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoan, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Cheo TheaterMaleled, visited and performed in France. This is also the first time the Cheo play "Quan Am Thi Kinh" has been fully staged and performed in Paris with French subtitles. Previously, Cheo plays were only staged in excerpts due to budget and actor limitations.
To be performed in France, the Cheo play was staged in 2005 with the help of French Professor, Doctor Yves Defrance - a researcher of folk music, Director of the Musician Training Center at the University of Rennes 2, and a research expert on traditional Vietnamese music.

The performances attracted a large number of overseas Vietnamese and French and international friends. Although the stage was decorated simply and symbolically, it still highlighted the simple life of Vietnamese rural people.MaleThrough French subtitles and the skillful acting of the main actors as well as the supporting roles, such as Thi Kinh played by Vu Thuy Ngan and Thi Mau played by Tran Thi Quyen, the audience understood the moral ideology of the Vietnamese people through this play.
