(Baonghean)At the 3rd session of the 16th Provincial People's Council, voters raised concerns: Forest land in Khum village, Chau Hoi commune, Quy Chau district, had been allocated to Thanh Thanh Dat Company for reforestation, but the company has not fulfilled its commitment. The land has not yet been planted with timber trees, leading to the villagers of Khum village, Chau Hoi commune, forming their own groups, dividing the land into plots, and dividing it among themselves for reforestation, causing social instability.

Regarding this matter, the Provincial People's Committee reports as follows:

Following feedback from voters, the Provincial People's Committee established a working group to directly work with Thanh Thanh Dat Co., Ltd., inspect the company's reforestation activities, and cooperate with local authorities and residents. The results are as follows:

Thanh Thanh Dat Co., Ltd. was approved by the Provincial People's Committee for the land use plan for planting raw material forests in Chau Hoi and Chau Nga communes, Quy Chau district. After receiving the land lease decision, Thanh Thanh Dat Co., Ltd. developed a forest planting project for the period 2010-2015, which was approved by the Provincial People's Committee.

According to the technical design and cost estimate documents, in 2010 the area for forest planting in Chau Hoi commune was 76.1 hectares; in 2011, the area for forest planting in Chau Hoi and Chau Nga communes was 200 hectares (of which Chau Nga commune: 130.3 hectares, Chau Hoi commune: 69.7 hectares). Thus, the documentation and procedures of Thanh Thanh Dat Co., Ltd. are sufficient to implement the Raw Material Forest Plantation Project in Chau Hoi and Chau Nga communes, Quy Chau district.

Results of reforestation by Thanh Thanh Dat Co., Ltd.:

- In 2010: The company planted trees according to the approved plan, and the forest grew and developed normally; however, the current density is only 60-70%, partly due to human destruction.

- The 2011 forest plantation in Chau Hoi commune covers 69.7 hectares: To date, only a few small areas have been cleared of undergrowth. The reason is that residents of Khum village, Chau Hoi commune, are disputing ownership and preventing the unit from carrying out the work.

Therefore, it is true that people from Khum village, Chau Hoi commune, Quy Chau district, have encroached on the land of Thanh Thanh Dat Co., Ltd. to dispute and divide it among themselves for reforestation. To address this issue, the Provincial People's Committee has requested Thanh Thanh Dat Co., Ltd. to cooperate with local authorities (Quy Chau District People's Committee and Chau Hoi Commune People's Committee) to disseminate information and explain the situation clearly to the people, preventing the matter from escalating and spreading.
