A series of deaths due to drowning

(Baonghean.vn) -On June 8, Dien Thanh Border Guard Station (Dien Chau) announced that at coordinates 19008N - 106002E, an accident occurred while working at sea, killing one person. The victim was Mr. Tran Duc Lan (born in 1957, residing in Quyet Thang hamlet, Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau), a worker on fishing boat NA 3144 TS owned by Mr. Ngo Van Trung (born in 1984, residing in the same hamlet as Mr. Lan).

While the boat was casting a fishing net at the above coordinates, the net got caught on the boat. Mr. Lan jumped into the water to remove the net, but unfortunately the net got wrapped around his arm and he could not swim up. The crew members who were with him jumped in to save him and brought him onto the boat to perform CPR, but due to severe drowning, Mr. Lan died.

Previously, on June 5, at Quynh Bang beach (Quynh Luu district), two children, Nguyen My Trung (8 years old) and Nguyen Thi Hoa (4 years old, both living in Tan Hai hamlet, Quynh Phuong commune), were accidentally swept away by waves while swimming in the sea and died.
