(Baonghean) As an exemplary cadre and party member, with a happy and peaceful family..., Nguyen Van B lost everything because of his desire for strange things.

On April 27, 2012, Yen Thanh District People's Court held a first-instance trial of Nguyen Van B's case - guilty of "Sexual intercourse with children".

From early morning, the defendant's and victim's family members and relatives, as well as curious people, packed the courthouse, because the criminal was the former President of the Farmers' Association of the commune and the victim was a 15-year-old neighbor girl, a close friend of the defendant's child.

According to the indictment, on the afternoon of July 15, 2011, T, a classmate of B's daughter, came to the defendant's house to play. Seeing T, B asked, "Are your mother and brother home?" and T replied, "They are both out." At around 10 p.m., B knew that T's mother and brother were not home, so he sneaked into the house and found T sleeping on the bed. The defendant committed a lewd act on T. T was so scared that she did not dare tell her family. In July 2011, T went to theMaleI played with my uncle and found out I had a gynecological disease. My uncle took me to the doctor and found out that my hymen was torn and my vagina was injured. My uncle asked me so I dared to tell the truth. My family filed a complaint against the officer who had D blood."

Throughout the morning of the trial, the defendant bowed his head and confessed his guilt, because no matter what the reason, he could not justify his shameful crime. The victim, a 15-year-old girl with an innocent face, stood next to her uncle. It seemed that she was still terrified of standing so close to the person who ruined her life.

Her mother - already small due to heart disease, now looked even more haggard. Tears fell from the face of the unfortunate woman who had been abandoned by her husband and now witnessed her daughter's pain, making those attending the trial unable to hold back their tears. The defendant's wife - teacher H - remained silent during her husband's testimony. After decades of living together, with many children and a well-off family, she now had to endure the pain and humiliation from her husband.

When given the final say before the jury deliberated, the defendant bowed his head, mumbled an apology, and asked for forgiveness from the victim's family and leniency from the law.

The trial ended, the 18-month prison sentence for the defendant was the right person, the right crime. Now, during the months of reform in prison, the defendant will have to face the cruel judgment of conscience. Just because he could not control himself and his base desires, the defendant robbed the most precious thing in his daughter's life, the child who still called him "uncle".

Those attending the trial - some sympathized with the girl who soon had to bear the emotional scars and inferiority complex that would probably never be erased in her entire life, others felt sorry for a conscious and qualified official who had to trade his reputation, career and most of all, lose his life.

I lost all faith in my loved ones because I couldn't control myself for a moment.

The case is also a wake-up call for parents to pay more attention to their daughters to avoid painful consequences.
