Closing of Ben Thuy II Bridge
(Baonghean.vn) - This afternoon, June 16, the Transport Construction Corporation 4 held a ceremony to close the Ben Thuy II bridge. Attending the bridge closing ceremony were comrade Dinh La Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee - Minister of Transport, Nguyen Dac Vinh - First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Thai Van Hang - Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh - Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee.
The Ben Thuy 2 Bridge Project was approved by the Ministry of Transport on October 2, 2008 in 2 phases. Phase 1 has a total investment of more than 1,259 billion VND from government bonds. The project includes the bridgehead road, approach bridge and main bridge over Lam River. The total length is 2,941m, the width of the roadbed and bridge deck is 25m (the approach bridge and main bridge over the river are 996m long, the bridgehead roads on both sides are 1,963m long).

The project started on March 14, 2010, and to date the construction value has reached 84%. The construction progress has basically met the requirements of the Ministry of Transport for technical traffic opening on September 2.
The closing ceremony of Ben Thuy 2 Bridge marks the completion of the most important and meaningful stage in the construction of the bridge. It recognizes the efforts of the contractors. Although the construction was in a difficult period in terms of capital and harsh natural conditions.
