(Baonghean)The Vietnamese Goods Fair was held in Cau Giat Town, Quynh Luu District. This is one of the efforts not only to help businesses dominate the domestic market but also to give people the opportunity to use high-quality, low-priced Vietnamese goods...

Following the success of the program of bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside held in Do Luong Town last May, the 2012 Vietnamese Goods Fair in Quynh Luu District took place from June 22, 23, 24, organized by BigC Vinh in coordination with Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade.

Here, the staff participating in the fair distributed leaflets to customers and small traders, tried out products, gave gifts, held lucky draws, discounts, and also gave many scholarships to poor but good students in the locality and free cultural programs to serve local people.

In the crowd of people coming to visit and shop at the fair, Mr. Nam - the owner of a department store in Block 4, Cau Giat Town said: The variety of goods here is very rich, the prices are generally lower than the market level. Especially, there are many promotional products with gifts. This is an opportunity for people in Quynh Luu district to have more choices when shopping, access to high-quality Vietnamese goods, and businesses to promote distribution channels to the rural market. I and a few other store owners in the area negotiated to get goods from the supermarket.

Not only is it an opportunity for retail, but this fair also has many sales contracts signed between the supermarket and local businesses. Ms. Thuy Quyen - in charge of bulk sales of the supermarket said: This is the first time the program "Vietnamese goods to the countryside" has come to Quynh Luu and the results are very good. Sales reached nearly 800 million VND. Hopefully this fair will lay a long-term foundation for the relationship between businesses and the local distribution system.

In an effort to bring Vietnamese goods to rural, remote and isolated areas, to better serve customers' shopping needs, BigC Vinh supermarket organized a number of free bus trips to the countryside to take people shopping at the supermarket. Ms. Le Lan - Director's Secretary said that before the official opening, information about the fair was introduced to Quynh Luu people through many diverse forms such as distributing leaflets to homes, hanging banners on major roads, posting on media... And very happily, although not receiving financial support from the program to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas, the Department of Industry and Trade as well as local authorities tried to create conditions for businesses to implement effectively.
